From a show I saw each cat has a different job to do so eliminating one might not work. Also separating the two might have an effect on their running temperature and screw up the whole process. I thought of going through the frame as well. Same as posted using a pipe welded in but also adding a gussett to both sides that is welded to the pipe as well as the frame. This same sort of thing was used to extend a truck frame for a ramp truck conversion. I wouldn't attempt it without the gussetts.

Jeez, someone needs to be a man and step up (with his wallet!) to alpha- and beta-test all this so's I know this'll all work. Then put it together in a bolt-on kit and sell it to us at cost ;))

Mark, I'm still considering the 1" body lift. Right now I only have sliders that would have to be modified. It's funny too but the Marks site (AUS) even gives you all the specs of what you need to fab it up yourself. I checked this out and it's possible to get it together for less than $75. My only issue is what Dan and others bring up in terms of safety, higher COG, bolts sheering off, etc. I was hit by a whacked out guy evading police - he was doing about 90 and I was at a dead stop. So I've still got too much PTSD when it comes to vehicle safety. Mmmm, wrap my 80 around me...
