I just picked up a 91 Land Cruiser with a smog legal 350 FI (5.7 out of a 97 GMC) not sure what Chevy/GMC Tran's was used (auto trans). It drives nice and I bought it for a 2nd family vehicle however, the wife is not happy with it and wants me to sell it. I've been out of the 4x4 hobby for a long time and just don't know what a fair price to ask is. The cruiser has 202,000 miles on the vehicle itself however the engine and tranny has roughly 50K miles. I'm located in Roseville CA and please let me know if I posted this incorrectly. Also, I have about 3 pictures and I don't know how to attache them, Sorry

I'm asking $5800 and I can be reached at 916-792-7766

Try to post some pics.

You can use a picture hosting service such as photobucket and link the pictures here using the IMG tags.

Here's what it looks like:

Does the conversion use all of the stock gauges and do they work? Does the ac work? Is the transmission a 4 speed automatic?

All the guages work correctly, I did notice that if I step on the gas hard and make the motor go into overdrive the tach will actually go down to zero and then adjust accordingly. The A/C needs to be charged and that is on my list to do this weekend if I don't eat to much turkey. The transmission is a 4 speed automatic.

depending on how good a job the swap is, and if the front axle has been serviced, I would think anywhere from $3k to $6

Thanks sseaman. The swap was done by a shop and its all CA smog legal. It looks very clean. I'm not solid on $5800, I just want it to go to a good home at a fare price. Thanks everyone!

what tranny and case?

is it the 700r?

Maybe a little clean up under the hood, but I would think that is an easy $5500 truck. A conversion like that is NOT cheap. It has to get decent MPG and run strong. Good luck!

Domek: I don't know the exact Tranny, if somebody can tell me how to tell I will crawl under it today to let everyone know. Also, the T-case is a Toyota. Sorry guys

Motoloco: Thanks for the advise and info. I'll be honest I'm getting more and more attached to it :-)

I'd like to get a little more information on this. What type of mileage are you getting? Did you figure what tranny?

Sorry, don't know the exact tranny, is there anyway to find out by looking at it. Also I've only ran about two tanks of gas and I'm estimating around 14-15 mpg

Just crawled under and the pan looks like number 6. This make since because the motor is a 91 5.7. Is this a good transmission? Any info would be wonderful, Thanks again

Is the engine '91 or '97? I'm a little confused. I'm guess the Tranny is a 700r4? Pretty sure that's a 4 speed OD Tranny. Think you could send more pics of the entire rig and interior? Maybe point out or tell me any flaws that this thing might have? Just looking for honesty here man. You can just email me at Txpsd@yahoo.com Thanks! :D

Why not just go buy a Blazer? Seems like a waste of money to put crappy american parts into a toyota. I know a guy that put a toyota 4.7L V8 into a 91 Cruiser. Now that is money well spent.
