Don't tell me to search- I'll find tons of info about 4Runners with coils. And it's not like you guys have anything better to do. :flipoff2:

1990 Pickup, see photo. Eyeballing it, it looks like about 2 inches difference between front and rear. I don't have any intention of lifting this truck; I just want to level it out. The way I see it, my options are longer shackles, new oem springs, aftermarket springs, the addition of helper springs/add-a-leaves, or just adding another leaf from a donor spring pack.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Howdy! How about 2" lift blocks between the rear springs and the axle perch? Might need new longer ubolts to go with. John

search :flipoff2:
drop the tire pressure in the front, and put 60 pounds in the rear tires.

slap 200 pounds of lead weights under the hood. thatll level er out.

definately use blocks instead of add a leafs they stiffen up the ride way too much, blocks lift you up a little but dont change your factory ride which you might think is rough but it isnt compared to the add a leafs i helped a friend put in once they turned his 91 into a buckboard wagon, after a week he pulled them out threw em in the scrap pile and bought blocks/ubolts for $100 on ebay and loves them still...hope i could help

i dont have blocks on my 85 but thats because it gets its @$$ kicked every weekend and i worry about axlewrap and shearing the center leaf pin(and i love my 5 inch lift skyjacker superflex springs)............however judging by the picture this is more of a work/daily beater truck and ihave and would run blocks on such a vehicle....just my opinion

or you could just drive around with my mother in law sittin on your front bumper that'll give you a nice rake and you can keep her!
mom in law.webp

How about lower the front end to match? It's free...

Part of me says the T.Bars have been rolled up, and 2ndGen is absolutely correct.

I'd go with either blocks or shackles. Lift blocks on the rear aren't all that bad. But they are on modded rigs that see off-road a lot and don't have a trac bar. Do not require longer shocks...

[$ spiral]Shackles would net him a little more flex....:D (He looks like he needs it)

Then he'll possibly need longer shock....[/$ spiral]

LMFAO!!!!! sorry guys im full of jokes (and $hit) today!!!

Chatty-McFatty! :flipoff2:

LONGER SHACKLES. I did this in my 88 runner when it was still IFS and sagging. It will acctually improve ride quality and you dont have to worry about having a block. There are so many ways around using lift block that i dont even know why people still use them. Plus shackles are easy as hell to make.

Also, you will get a little more flex with the longer shackles. Other wise, use a main leaf from another stock spring pack on the bottom of your pack. I have no reference for before and after but i did this on my SAS with stock rears and they are still pretty damn soft and flex like crazy.

Beater!? Come on! I'll pretend that was a joke like most of the other responses.

I have some long shackles left over from an old 1st gen 4Runner lift- they are beefy as hell, but I'll have to take a look to see if they will fit the springs, and if they are in fact long enough to make up the difference.

The torsion bars have not been tweaked. This thing is bone stock in every way except for tires.

Thanks for the advice, and all the insults.

Sagging Truck

I just got a 92 that has the same issue. How did you ever solve this (with details please)?

Thanks

(a) Spacer blocks magnify rear end wrap-up, consequently they fatigue the springs prematurly.
(b) Add-a-leafs are designed to carry a heavy load. When the load isn't there, you get beat up.
(c) Longer spring shackles are inexpensive lift, which is ok unless your rear springs are already shot.
(d) New rear spring assemblies are the more expensive choice. I still have a few sets of 2" lift in storage, PM if interested.
