What is the best cost effective alternator upgrade for the stock 60-65A alt.

My son's Runner has gone through one every 6m and is on #4.
He has a 800W amp used reasonably, 8000lb winch used sparingly, with a coil wound battery.

Alt all die of over heating..........

Any experiences??

yeah stop deep cycling the battery and you won't over work the alternator!

that alternator should keep up fine when the car is running and the sterio is pounding. As for the winch I'm sure that's what causing it to deep cycle even when you have the engine running. Try a better battery, unless you want to shell out for a HO alternator.

This is about the best, cheapest, and best option. It's actually only a 90 amp but close enough to 100. They are also in some '86-'92 supras, hince that is where is where I got mine.

I have mine in my 22re pickup, I didn't know they would work in the 3vze.
