Buddy of mine called me up late last night and asking about an 85 4wd truck all original with less than 20k miles on it. He wants to know what the truck might be worth? The truck is in Florida and in excellent condition. Any idea? Thanks. :)

best year for the solid axle minitrucks....and the last year. Outta have fuel injection, but not sure all did (optional). Price will vary wildly unfortunately....

All had fuel injection, even the diesels tttt.

The 2L is s sweet little engine and I think you US guys even had those trucks in 85.

only the 22R-E would have fuel injection.
i think the 22R-TE(turbo fuelly) might have been around that yr as well. but i'm pretty sure 86 was the first yr for it.

but more than likly it will have the 22R
i've heard that 85 was a bad yr for the R(just the R version) motor. something about an internal diminesionial change(deck height??). i hear that their prone to head gasket problems. i've never seen one in person, so this is all hear say.

The truck has the 22R-E. Original tires and chrome wheels, manual tranny and sliding rear window. :)

Run the truck through www.kbb.com. They will give you a value.

In 1985 efi was an option. It was found on all 4Runners (my dx has efi), and on SR5 trucks. Since this truck has chrome wheels and efi I'll bet it's an SR5. SR5's also had chrome bumpers, chrome trim over the wheel wells and doors, full gauges with tach, and a much nicer interior. The higher end SR5's had a clinometer and seats with SR5 printed on them.

The turbo 22-ret was only imported into the US in 86 and 87.

Thanks for all the replies guys! The truck was a regular cab SR5 with chrome grille, chrome front and rear bumper and cloth interior. :)
