I recently purchased an 84 Hilux double cab 2.4D. It's missing the jack and tools to raise/lower the spare tire. Anyone have a photo of their spare tire crank tool? I'd like to fabricate something but just need a starting point. The wife will be driving the truck and she can change a tire.

Boneyard? I suspect it's the same used on other Gen2 trucks.

Unfortunately I live in a very rural area. The closest yard is about 45 miles. I can call them to see if the have any gen 2 Toyotas.

I searched Google Images for photos of it and didn't really find anything useful.

This work?

Thanks. Yes it helps. But that's not what I was expecting it to look like.

Do all of those sections assemble to crank down the spare tire? There's a location behind the rear seat that looks like a 4 ft long tool would clip into place. I had assumed that's where the spare tire/jack cranking tool would mount since it's next to the screw jack mounting pad.

Maybe yours is one of these, my 88 runner used the one above.

I have the z bend piece. If you want it it's yours for the cost of shipping

The tool you're referring to on the back wall of the cab is a rod made of 1/2"-9/16" stock with a hook on one end and a point on the other. I had 2 of them around (having had 2 of those trucks) but with one truck gone and the other torn apart I can't seem to find one for a picture. How about a picture of your 84"

Looks awesome, the double goofy mirrors ain't my style though hahaha.

Did the bed have holes drilled in 4 spots for a rack that came installed? Mind did and the floor is rotten around it.

Never seen the spilt side steps either, do they look homemade?

The mirrors are surprisingly effective. Took a little bit to get used to them but there's really no blind spots with them.

The side steps don't look homemade. Looks like a universal aftermarket thing. I'll most likely fab some sliders some day and get rid of them.

No holes in the bed. The bed looks like it's about a year old. There's zero rust on it.

Looks really clean. Both of mine have had cab mounts rusting out the front corners.

Both of mine had the same side steps shown in my picture, once allowed the truck will get some new bar work.

What size tires do you hav? OME suspension? The yellow shocks look like their Nitrochargers or maybe Bilsteins. I'm thinking about OME springs and shackles and 33" BFGs.

2.5" OME suspension with HD front springs for the diesel and medium springs in the rear. Nitro shocks because I'm not re-engineering the wheel... ARB already made it work perfectly fine. I had lift shackles on the old truck and they rode bad, these shackles are stock height but cadmium plated greasable poly bushings. Also found it it's a very good idea to extend the brake lines, I did all 3 stainless because the fronts were too tight at full droop. Tires are 33 by 12.5 and they have lots of room to move... I did however lose a front mudflap somewhere it got pinched between the tire and the side step.

That's the same setup that I'm planning to run except I'll be using 33x9.5. Going to stick with the existing tires for a while since the are brand new. Less than 5k miles on them at the moment.

I'm happy with the OME setups on my BJ42 and HJ45. I agree that they have it figured out and make it easy.

That's a dying size... I can understand not wanting to go 12.5" but if you find those rare 9.5s I would try and get 2 sets lol

Edit - I don't even see 9.5 for sale anymore and only 3 models for 10.5 (BFG and General)
