You guys ever seen a upright winch do a good recovery of another vehicle(JEEP) and once up the hill we pulled the line out and started to pull the line in to coil it back on.

Once we started reeling it in, the lights on my BJ42 went almost out completely with the draw and it barley moved?? I am guessing motor, sounded a little weird on the final pull. Gears?

It will be apart, but wondering if anyone has seen this before and what to look for.

Solenoids? Sounds like an over draw from either the motor or one of the solenoids is stuck. Did you leave it hooked up to your battery after it almost killed your BJ42?

Sounds like a bad battery.

Are you sure it's the winch?

The winch even with no load still draws near 100 amps, so a marginal battery and you're DOA

I did leave it hooked up and both batteries are fully charged?

Long time ago I saw a winch start melting the battery lead due to it locking up in the motor and making a dead ground situation, not pretty.

Not sure, but it seems like it is binding up, maybe the side pull did something to the drum?

Thanks

I will get it apart this weekend.
