My work mate ( ironically the on e I bought my 80 from) got his brandy new 2005 Dodge ram 2500 diesel stuck in the mud yesterday during the hardest part of the rain in New Jersey. I was down @ his house and I got the 80 and went back to his location @ this point he is up the front axle in mud! with that big ass 1000 lb diesel motor sitting over the front axle. hooked him up to the factory rear tow hook (under the bumper) and between the two trucks pullin we got him out ! I dug hole the height of the sidewalls on the 33" tires on my cruiser the truck looked like it was sitting on the wheels. The Dodge is a true truck @ this point as he slid down and embankment in the proces of getting stuck and dented every panel on the right side!
He was real sad he sold me the cruiser to get that turd! :D
Now I just need some lockers and we'll be in business.

Use the vehicle for what its designed for!

Its funny, people purchase vehicles designed for one thing then try doing things with it it's not designed for then bitches about its performance. It's like taking an 80 and hooking a 15,000lb. trailer to it then bitch when it can’t do the job, the Dodge Cummins would pull the trailer all day long and not even break a sweat. Tell him to use the vehicle for what it's designed for and be happy when it does it. If he'd like to go 4wheeling then get a vehicle designed for it, the Dodge Cummins isn't.

Aaaaah bragging rights over a buddy, priceless. “remember that time I saved your ….” Congrats always fun to use our trucks to help someone.

How did the anchor point hold up?

Mark

He was using the Dodge for what it was designed for, fill. He was filling in holes with it. :-)

rear tow hook

suprisingly the tow hook did not even deflect a little. I even had to do a JERK type of a start just to budge the fat pig dodge I thought for sure the tow point would tear right off break the sound barrier and crash thru the windshield of the dodge! but the F*#@er held on tight!!

Junk drove thru some big puddles on the way home reveling in the 80's ability to BAIL out the pig!

Well I am going to get the opportunity to wheel with an H2 and Rubicon soon. Imagine the fun I will get to have pulling those two out. Actually, the Rubicon will do great, but H2 boy is going to get stuck, and I am going to pull him out and take a picture, then put it on here, so it can be a glorious day on Ih8mud and we can celebrate with

wb 1948..hurry up and get that trip going...i cant wait to hear all about it. make sure to take lots of pics.

sorry about the lack of pics.

cameras were not in friendly territory out there as we had more rain that night than we have had in a long time,
still have not washed the mud just to remind him when he sees it @ WORK every day that the MIGHTY cruiser had to help his HEAP out. ;p

I wouldn't wheel with an H2 on anything more than a gravel road. Seriously, you do not want to pull that overgrown shoe box. My 80 looked like a low rider even with the Js dragging the sorry broke H2 up a hill. It did it, but in hindsight I don't think I would do it again. It is like 3.5 tons of weight.

You need bigger tires:) Mine is taller than an H2.:D

Mine is taller than a stock H2 too. Js and 35s. However, when you're adding 6800lbs to the load on the back of your 80 it squats quite a bit.
