80 Series Spare Parts? Advance Auto closing in my area

I'm looking for some help, what spare parts would you buy at 90% off for your 80 series?

Advance Auto Parts is closing up shop on the west coast and has their vehicle-specific parts going for 90% off in most cases. I've got a pretty well sorted LX450 but am looking for some maintenance and repair parts and want to look ahead a bit. I don't want to hoard anything or blow unnecessary cash but am thinking some reasonable spares might make sense.

Here's what I know isn't available:
- Alternator
- Starter
- Radiator

What I've ordered:
- Basic maintenance parts: oil/air filters, spark plugs
- spark plug wires
- brake rotors and pads
- Moog greaseable u-joints all around (prefer Toyota but am going to toss a set in for trail spares)
- Wheel bearings
- Thermostat (about to do radiator so picked up a thermostat)

What else should I be thinking about? Thanks in advance for ideas!

Stick with OEM Toyota parts. Advance sells cheap unreliable china sourced parts.

It would be cool to have as a backup the alternator and starter, maybe a fuel pump, maybe a water pump and not for continuous duty.
What brand bearings?
If you can get 90% off of spark plugs, OEM specific, that’s a deal.

That was my first thought on alternator/starter etc, cheap cheap spares. I'm on original for engine components so it's a matter of time. But no stock available...
Bearings are National brand. Seems like they've outsourced manufacturing to China but an entire set to toss in the spares kit is $10. U joints are moog, I've got a spare front DS I'll rebuild with those and toss the extra rears to add to the OEM rears I keep as spares in the truck.

I picked up NGK OE-spec plugs for every gas vehicle in my family fleet @ less than $1/ea. That and cheap filters has been the real steal so far.

Water pump, fuel pump etc are no dice in my area.

Appreciate the replies. I generally prefer OEM but don't keep a bunch of things on hand, so this oppty to "stock up" is interesting to me but also am not interested in installing junk.

I am not being coy. I would stock up on oil and grease. All the other parts are finally priced at what they are worth

90% off? Two of everything you can get your hands on! Light bulbs, calipers, hoses, belts, master cylinder, muffler, all fluids (empty the shelves), lock actuator, window motors, tools, tools, tools, A/C parts, heater parts, shocks (if you're stock), fuses....

Any Denso (AC compressor or fuel pump Made in Japan for example), Koyo (new bearings in sealed package), AISIN (water pump made in Japan), NTK, or AISAN (IAC valve) parts should be good quality. Look for any engine sensors (Knock, ECT, etc) made by any of those companies.

Don't waste your money on Moog U-joints.

get heater hose rolls, vacuum hose rolls, spark plugs, and they are carrying toyota oil filters now-a-days so grab those up with lots of oil.

Buy grease and oil and maybe generic heater hoses, vacuum hose etc. If they have good quality brands like gates. Skip basically everything else, cheap and nasty. In 99% of cases, OEM is worth what it costs.

I went today to pick up a set of $20 control arms for my son's clapped out Subaru. Ordered online for store pickup. When I arrived, there was a line extending around the building. They were only letting 2 people in at a time. Guys were camped out for a couple hours. I couldn't get in to pick up my order. Big waste of time.

Yeah, I drove 20 minutes, arrived at 11. Hand written sign on the door said "opening at noon, due to extreme short staff. Only 2 people in the store at a time."

I spent a bit of money there Saturday buying up oil. It wasn't 90% off but saved $15 on each 5qt jug. The counter help consisted of two people who I get the impression were temps. Two guys in front of me and I waited over 30 mins while they struggled to look up parts.

I've had some luck so far, but not as much as I would have hoped. I'm near Seattle and got to the Kent store yesterday morning. For the 80 series it looks like the parts I ordered didn't really exist, but for my F550 and F150 I was able to grab several parts at 90% off like KYB and Rancho shocks and steering stabilizers.

If you're on the west coast and want to take a shot, your best bet is to search online inventory for the stores that have what you want/need, then be there at opening. I made nice with the guy working the counter so he was cool with me when I handed him a list of ~60 item numbers for my 6 family vehicles.

I think there are something like 75 stores closing all over the US.

Over 700 stores will close but that leaves around 4000 still operating.

How do we find out which stores are closing? There has to be one in CO with that many closing.

AFAIK it’s all stores in west coast states: WA, OR, CA, NV and maybe others.

As of now all the stores I’ve been to have at 90% off are vehicle specific parts. Items like oil, cleaning, lighting are between 50 and 60% off.

Their loaner tools are 70% off.
