Alright, here's the deal. I've got a nice mig unit, 12 ton hydraulic tubing bender, with all of the associated metal fabrication gear, and no time at all. Yes, I can build it, but it's easier to get a prefab or semifab unit that welds into place as an assembly. I have time for that, but no time for the custom design or rough out. Any leads? Whay say you my friends? Specifically for a 92 FJ80. Thanks.

White, only thing i have to add is your sig line should read "and doesn't take crap off anyone.."

But, his rig came with it allready installed. Ask Slee. What about metaltech, maybe.

Yep It came with it. :D The 80 was built locally (AZ) mostly by Ian Liljeblad.

I remember drooling and lusting for that thing when it was for sale.........man you lucked out! Nice score Phil......and i know i've said that a couple of times.

I am under the impression that Metal Tech will be coming out with a cage for the 80 soon. Email Mark and bug him about it.

Currently, the only roll cage manufactured (non custom) that I can find for an 80 series is made by Safety Devices out of the UK. The bad news is it will only fit cruisers without sunroofs. If you're one of those lucky few without the factory leaker installed, I can send you the contact info for a stateside importer.
It would be way cool if Metal Tech would make one up.

At this point I can not say it will be at least three months. I have a few other parts I am working on right now. I have it drawn up and need to do a proto install. Once that is done I will have a few test trucks install it for feed back. It just takes some time to develop, it needs to be right the first time!

Helo, I want to be the first in line on this 80 cage. Can't wait for this fabrication. The cage for the 40 works perfectly.

YOU WANT TO BE THE TEST VEHICLE???!!!!
You know, you will have to roll it to make sure it works :flipoff2:

I say have it fully welded in one piece and then figure out how to put it in. Much more fun that way... :D

Would the sunroof be unusable, or just you'd have a bar in your way if you tried to climb out it, but as far as fresh air and all that it'd still work right?

I am working as time allows on modeling the interior in CAD to make the best fit. This will also help for the best way to assemble cage inside yet allow for full welds on all the joints. The cage will work with the OE sunroof. The intent of the cage is secondary support to the Toyota safety design.

I'm guessing it is made to hug the roof of a non-sunroof truck. Therefore, it just wont fit with a sunroof.

No, there is a cross bar that runs across the top behind the front row of seats and two diagonal braces that run across the headliner-- one above the front passengers and the second above the second row seats that will not fit due the bulge the sunroof takes out of the passenger compartment.
This is a bad picture but it might help:
