Too bad your locked '95 isn't red, or we could be twins.

haha blade, did you bump into something?

The good news is that it will be a great 80 to do mockup on... the bad news... the frame is bent at the bumper. I won't take any chances. I'll pull the seats and remove the rear portion of the Land Cruiser tomorrow. If I'm really motivated I might be able to get the camper pulled too.

Awesome project, I have been thinking on a similar vein for awhile. I was thinking about designing a pop-up "slip-on" Camper that would only require 3 x3" reese style hitches in the rear bumper, plus mounts to secure the top to the rails. The roof rack bolt would secure the deck as well, with the sunroof as a pass-through.

Here is a very rough draft:

Thats nice Cadin, do you have a thread on it? Looks like you've spends some time on thinking it out.

Myself on the other hand, I need to see the shell on the cruiser before I think out anything more. It might not work.

Today I took some measurements. The RV will be over 10' high on a Stock cruiser. The Vehicle will be 3-3'6" longer. The overhead sleeper unit will possibly be less overhang than on the truck.

I'm at the point where the body can come off the Sunrader (with some help from the tractor). Once off I'll pull the sunroof from the 80, make a few cuts and back it under to see where everything lines up.

Pretty sure the interior will be 6'6" headroom.

Wouldn't it be cool to slap this under a diesel 80? Kinda sorta looking for one if you know of anyone.

Didn't get a ton done today but got the fiberglass released from its old foundation. Vacation week so I have to get some naps in too. done for the day.

Hey Mikesta, no thread on the camper idea; I've got plenty of other fish to fry with my current project! I was just playing around with some free software for sh**ts and grins. I have checked out the chinook pop-tops as well for ideas. What a fun project! Do you plan to air-bag the rear end? Do you have any shots of the underside of the camper?

I look forward to seeing it come along!

Didn't do much today, just cleaned out the cab of everything to the firewall for resale (to recoup some of the expenses) and hauled the frame and cab to scrap. $53 for them both. The rear axle should fetch $1000, the optional 28 gallon gas tank with generator hookup should fetch $400... the rest of the stuff hopefully $600, then I'm done with the truck. I might have the 80 cut and the camper resting on it before Monday, family in town and when that happens, priorities get shifted around. Post turkey day stuffing has me crawling around quite slow!

lil update, probably wont be another one till Christmas. Had to move both the cruiser and the shell to the new residence as we are selling the 40 acres.

I've thought about a project like this too, but I've always come to the conclusion it would be easier to buy a mini-truck camper, swap in a v8 and throw a solid axle under the front
