80 Series Pop-top Builds

So as not to clutter @LandCruiserPhil's excellent build threads, I'd like to start a thread dedicated to interesting 80 series pop-top designs and builds.

If you have one, or know of one, please consider posting a link, picture, or both, below.

Mine's been parked out at my brother's shop since last spring. Picked it up a couple of weeks ago and have been driving it back and forth to work. These things were not made to sit idle. '97 40th. Just hit 159K.

Did you cut the roof off and build that yourself or did it come from AluCab ready to be bolted on after cutting the roof?

I bought a Alu-Cab Expo III and cut the bottom out of it, than made a custom adapter, cut out my roof then mounted it.

Works amazing, Alu-Cab should have offered this for the 80 series.

I’ve thought about cutting a sun-roof sized hole in an RTT and using the sunroof to get down into the cab. But I don’t have an LC or RTT yet so

You have to re-design the whole bottom of the Alu-Cab Expo III.
Its not designed structurally to support itself from the factory, its meant to be on a roof rack for support.

Sorry I do not... to busy working on it! LOL! As of today I have been posting pics of the build in the 80 series tech section.
Someone asked (Bella1992) if anyone has done a conversion... well I kinda took over his thread.. Sorry Bella!!
