Will fron ACC has one in his 80 and loves it.

Because he spent money on it. Like anyone else who buys something... they love it, until they pull it because they really didn't like it.
It's definitely a different feeling beast. But there isn't any more power.

I have a serious question for you guys - I may have an opportunity to buy a truly unique vehicle but, I would have to get rid of my 80 Series.

So, here is the question - what do you think I could get for my 80 and/or would it be better part some of it out, here is my 80 in a nutshell:

  1. 1997 FZJ80 Collectors Edition
  2. Supercharged
  3. 4.88's
  4. 315/75/16's Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's w/Kevlar on stock rims converted to beadlocks by Champion
  5. 315/75/16's BFG AT's on stock rims
  6. MetalTech Sliders
  7. IPOR/4x4 Labs Rear Bumper w/dual swingouts
  8. Safari Snorkel
  9. INTI Roof Rack
  10. IPOR Skid Plate
  11. PowerTank
  12. African Outback Drawers
  13. ARB Refrigerator
  14. Milford Half Barrier
  15. Hella 500's (x4) and Matador Light (x1)
  16. ARB Front Bumper w/ Warn M12000 with Masterpull Synthetic and hawse fairlead
  17. Dual Batteries w/Painless System - in-cab switch
  18. ARB Air Lockers front and rear - wired into factory switch and utilizing factory indicators (Dash)
  19. ARB Compressor
  20. Viair Ultimate Onboard Air (not installed)
  21. LRA 40 Gallon Tank (not installed)
  22. Helton Heat Exchanger, Sureflo water pump, and ARB rear quarter panel water storage tank (partially installed)
  23. Custom Fender Rock Rails
  24. 2x Accessory BlueSea Fuse Panels
  25. Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer stereo system with new speakers and powered 10" sub in the rear
  26. 60" Hi-Lift Extreme with all the goodies

I have complete maintenance history on the truck, run synthetics, have rebuilt the front and rear axles with new wheel bearings approximately 30,000 miles ago. I think you guys know how well I maintain the truck. The only negative about the truck is the small rust spot I have on my rear hatch, which, I am about to have fixed.

I was thinking that I could get $25,000 from the right seller and that I could get $20,000 fairly easily.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts.

Dang. But you have a unique vehicle. It's outfitted quite well.
Good luck.

Good advice. Pull anything that can be without the truck missing... i.e. pull the front bumper if you have the stock bumper to go back on. It's worth more in the classifieds than on the truck.

It would probably be best if you didnt sell it.

Post 80 stress disorder is nothing to mess with.

It has claimed many people who now have to buy sissy vehicles with
A bunch of electrical gizmos to help them drive down the street. Gizmos like lane assist, parking assist, cruise control that keeps you from hitting the person in front of you, rear view cameras, rain sensing windshield wipers, etc etc.

; )

What is the rare vehicle that you want to buy, mark?

My guess it doesn't have any of this...that is not really how he rolls by the OG M5.

More like a NATO 70 series or UBL personal Humvee or Patrol.

This is MacGyver Mark we are talking about. :flipoff2:

Mark, my thought is that I got a headache trying to add up all the costs of the add-ons in my head! I quit when I got to 10K.

Gotta be honest, 20K initially sounds like a lot to get for an 80-=> BUT the amount of stuff you have on it makes it seem like a pretty sweet buy. I'd bet someone would buy it in that range.

I'd think you might be able to come out with a bit more parting out the add ons and then selling the stock truck, but I'm an ignorant noob who doesn't know shinola.

If you decide to part it out in the very near future, I got dibs on that ARB bumper! I'm also on the list for the group buy on the Metal Tech sliders, but that doesn't end until late this month, so lemme know and I might buy multiples!

This might turn into a feeding frenzy....

I know what it is
But
I will let mark tell yall.

Pretty sweet!
But may be too nice to wheel.

I was hoping for a 70 series

Keep it whole, delete this post that says you will take $20,000 and post it on Mud and EBay.

This... AFTER you have the small rust spot fixed and say nothing more about it.
