i bolted my brothers spare 80 series gxl steeli on my old 75 one day for a look it lookd awsum to

Hi Clint and others who might run this combo.

I need conformation on these rims!!!!!

I found a set of Factory 80 series GXL Rims!!!!! ssshhhhh!
So you reckon they'll fit a 74. Any issues?
My main concern is the Tie Rod Ends but these should be cleared by the 16" Rims, right?

Clarification, info and comments would be awesome. Also Hulsty if you see this
you might want to add something cause I think your running these rims too.

They look like the ones to me mate ,im not to sure i like that colour though i think if you want a black or white rim go with the sunrasias if you want a oem rim keep the orig oem colour .do they come with the center caps or though i think the ff 7x series axel sticks out more than the 80 ff series ones so they might bottom out

I bolted my brothers spare to the left side and didnt rub on anything when i spun it ... but im not sure but something is telling me that someone wrote on mud somewere that they dont fit so maybe a double check or something

Thanks for the reply mate.

The seller said he had them on a 40 series but when he put 75 series tie rod ends on it they rubbed.
Looks like they wont fit. Oh Well.... I have to stay focused on fitting the new windscreen frame anyways.
Rims wise, when I have the cash I'm gonna go custom steelies.

Cheers.

Why were you thinking of changing rims to get rid of your wheel spacers mate?

I already got rid of the spacers cause the cops pulled me over and warned me about my my wheels sticking out. I have stick on wheel weight so the alloys clear the TRE's now.....just. Looking to have 2 sets of rims for town and country. If I want my wheels sitting just right I think I'll need to order up a custom set. -34 offset min. -44 would be great but might have to go a 16x10 rim

You could go some OEM style flares i think they look way neato
to sets of rims would be nice just watching a 4wd action vids and a prado out bush smashed to alloys in one go pretty scary stuff if it was steelis just use a hammer 10" wide sunrasia steelis rims have a nice looking dish to them

The alloys are rated at 1200kg each. their pretty strong. dont know what stealies are rated at? I've got the factory flares and with spacers the wheels stuck out just a little to much, bout an inch. @" spacers. The set up is working at the moment so i'll just keep it till I till I need new tyres. I'm still looking around for rims tho.

Cheers.

looks sweet

Hey Clint,

Is that a HZJ74? Looks like coil front. The rims look great but not sure if they would fit my BJ74.
The guy who was selling the rims had em on a BJ42 and swaped the front diff from a 75 into it.
He reckoned they didn't fit a 75 (Just scrubbed on the tie rod ends) so I didn't bother to see if they'd
fit mine. I'll eventually get some custom sunnies made up. Time for new rubber soon.

No mate that is the prado model before we got prados in Aus kinda simular to our bunderas but i think these have there front shockie inside the front coil..? they have 4cyl motors and the fronts shorter, yep 4x coils

just watching a 4wd action vids and a prado out bush smashed two alloys in one go pretty scary stuff if it was steelis just use a hammer

Seen this vid posted in the 55 section a while ago
just watching it again and noticed 1min29 seconds in the vids watch the rim repair lol:D

Checked it,snaped some shots , no spacers on this one either and the left hand side tie rod look close in the pic but has about a inch gap, dont know what that guy couldnt fit it on his 7x series
i seen a pic of a europe spec 75series turned camper with 80 series gxl rims on it to a while ago

$16800 or something its a 94 220,000 km or something with oil leaks, i think their dreamers and there is nice shiny paint on the front window frame so some dodgy repares

Thanks for the pics Clint.
Looks like they fit no worries. More clearance than my outlaws.
I've been looking at 80 rims but not much round here at the moment.
I need new tyres very soon and not sure whether to go 33" STT again
only need 3 cause the spare is new or get new 16" rims and tyres all round.
Much more dollars!!!
