Yeah no Contura for me, I'm just not a fan of them. But blanks for sure. I will have two types of blanks; powder coated all black and powder coated red and silk screened reflective white. One side will say FIRE EXTINGUISHER and the other will say FIRST AID KIT same as you would see on buildings. I'll post some images in a few mins.

What switches are those that you are using?

Ok trying this again...

Here is the artwork for both sides of the skinny panel.

Evidently I have to use my phone to upload images. Boo!

Anyhow, here is the Molle panel along with hole sizing and spacing. I sent a panel to @retrofive a long ass time ago to test some of his bags. I'd like to alter the spacing but it seems every single freaking bag I get my hands on is spaced differently it attached differently or whatever. It's just lame. So if there is a preferred spacing let me know. Personally I don't like MOLLE because it's not a very efficient use of space. But I'm all ears. I need suggestions and input to move this particular panel forward.

Did I send pictures of the pouches on it? I can't remember.

This may be a silly question. I don't have a fire extinguisher but I will be getting one. I know, I know. Don't flame me. (Pun intended). But will most fire extinguisher mounts attach through the holes of the molle panel or are you going to have a flat blank that people can buy and drill the holes for the fire extinguisher if that is what they are going to use it for?

Can't believe you don't have a fire extinguisher yet. Tisk.

I would say you could just drill what you need into the Molle panel or else drill into the blank panel. I *could* just add all of the same mounting holes as I did on the FEM but then you are limited in placement. I don't want to do that. So it would mean drilling your own. Or I could just add the holes, depends what works best.

I have a blank plate now. I can add the picture but, it's just a blank plate :flipoff2:

I like that. There needs to be a way to make the first aid bag quick release in an idiot proof (or at least moron resistant) fashion. My first thought was Velcro but that might not work with all those holes. Magnet mount would be interesting, but maybe not workable. Maybe just offer a flat mount with no holes?

Think of yourself in this position: Ed and I are camping. Ed has never seen this mount or the first aid kit before. He's never even seen the inside of a Land Cruiser. I'm laying on the ground 100 yards from camp, badly hurt. I scream, "Get the first aid kit out of the back of my truck!" Ed is freaking out. Now he has to sprint 100 yards to camp, open the back of my truck, locate the first aid kit (the labeling solves this part), remove it from the mounting panel and sprint back to me, all as quickly as possible.

How can you not attach nearly anything to that...looks good!

Are the rectangular holes supposed to be slightly off-centered for a reason?:cheers: I'm not familiar with molle dimensional layouts...

I know. I know. Actually I have a small disposable fire extinguisher that probably would cause more harm than good. Money has been tight until recently and have been trying to get all of my maintenance caught up. I'm almost there!

I like the idea of a blank plate. Basically it is up to the customer what they want to do. They can either order it with the molle panel or the blank panel. I think that is the perfect solution. Is the plate held on with pop rivets or bolts with nutzerts on the frame of the unit?

Oh I am well aware of exactly this. I had a friend on a hike with his young daughter. He snapped his ankle. Send his daughter to his truck to get the first aid kit. Problem was it was inside a large Pelican case. Not only could the kid not lift the case but she couldn't even get the latches open. He had to drag himself to the truck. I never want that to happen to me or anyone else. This is why I'm having such a hard time with mounting.

Since I have blank panels I could just as easily attach a sheet of Velcro loop. I'm pen to anything.

Yeah I had some bags that were off so I adjusted the holes. I'm NOT a Molle expert so I'll wait for someone to chime in.

I will be ordering both as blanks. One with full velcro for the first aid kit. The other for fire extinguisher mount. Molle is very cool but I want someone to be able to rip it off and go. Everyone knows how to use velcro. Everyone.

The frame will utilize 1/4-20 pemnuts that are pressed into the frame. The screws will just be button heads, either Phillips or socket head. I considered using thumbscrews on this side but then it limits your mounting options so I'm using thumbscrews on the skinny panel instead.
