Maybe I'm blind but do you have dimensions of the front plate? Meaning the plate where I will mount the first aid kit. I'm looking at bags online and trying to maximize size. Thanks.

Well I have all of that ;)

I went over board on my EMT kit as well. Here is my setup: First aid kit (EMT kit)

Finally looked at your thread...that's the exact bag I have. I've had it for many years.

I also keep this in my car, and it goes into any bag I use for hiking or backpacking. It's an adventure medical kit that's been "enhanced" a little.

I also keep this in my car as a bike race/ride kit. I'm heavily involved in bike racing so it's geared towards heavy road rash among a few other things. I race mountain bikes all summer as well as helping to run road races and crits.

I also have this thing I would like to do something with.

I started with the bag. I have an Orange Pelican 1550 now ;)

I keep thinking I want a pelican as well. Although they don't overstuff quite as well if needed. Did you get an empty one and fill it on your own or did you get the prefilled EMS one?

Thanks! I know I saw that but didn't notice the measurements. That helps.

There are quite a few red bags out there that I've seen. They are "tactical" tear away bags. A hard plate with molle on the back with Velcro that you tear away the kit. I'm not sure that I'd go with the Molle panel though. Probably the flat plate and just disregard the molle backing plate that comes with the kit... I don't know.

I see now why you have taken so long and looked at so many bags! :flipoff2:

What does "tactical" mean anyway? Is a tear away Velcro one different than a tactical tear away one?

Means they are labeled "tactical" and the ones I have looked at are designed like military tear away kits.

Yes I get they are labeled tactical, but other than the label what is tactical suppose to mean exactly. To me is basically seems that tactical is just a word used to make something sound more military or bad ass and hence often a reason to charge more. I could be wrong of course. It seems as though some really seek out that military feel in all their products. Like @NLXTACY said, I feel no need to hide from the enemy.

And it is designed like a military bag.

I'm not hiding from anyone. But there is nothing wrong with being prepared. Kind of like carrying a first aid kit. Or fire extinguisher. Or spare fusible link. Or tools.

So tactical means, designed "like" a military item? Oh, don't get me wrong I'm all about being prepared just am struggling to see why the word "tactical" is assigned to so many products and what it's actually trying to imply. I guess it's somewhat like assigning the word "technology" to the description of many things.....just meaningless words to make the description sound better.

Here is an example of that.....

Bissell® CleanView® Vacuum with OnePass® Technology

This item has One Pass "technology".....I laugh at the word technology here and in most products that just work it into a mostly meaningless phrase as part of a description. One can find examples of this all day long. "Tactical" is pretty much the same strategy in my mind. Again this is all just my opinion....sorry to somewhat derail the thread.

Got the EMS version with the dividers then sourced everything myself. Wanted it as comprehensive as possible. The only things that don't fit are the collars and oxygen bottle.

"Tactical" has turned into a marketing term. Pure and simple.

Agreed. Marketing.

So when is the Wit's End Tactical Series of gear coming. ;)

I'm just waiting for the time when he issues numbered "Wit's End Edition" badges to replace all the Toyota badges for people who can verify that they have 80% or more of his products installed. :grinpimp:

My APUs are tactical! It can hold tactical knives, tactical flashlights and tactical nail clippers!!!

Well the nail clippers are pretty shiny.....that can't possibly qualify as tactical. :flipoff2:
