80 next to a 200

Do most of you notice a difference between driving (or test driving) a 200 over a semi built up 80 series. When I test drove a 200, I remember feeling disapointed I didn't really notice a difference on the feel of the vehicle (on hwy though). I've been thinking about that lately, that may not be a bad thing...

The 200 is waaayyyy easier to drive on the highway. The miles pass without a thought or sore.

From my postion when I drive my LC 200 TTD, I say 80 series what a truck :steer:

200 series what a package

You can't be serious?

That's like saying a Ford Focus handles like my Rx8.

I think I need to go for another test drive without the sales guy (and wife)...see what she'll really do.

Huh?

When I get home from a trip in the 80 and then get into my 100 to go to dinner the difference is tremendous and immediate. One block down the road reveals the 100 is a world-class driver vs an older design with a solid front axle. There is no comparision. The 200 is another step above the 100.

To drive to a dealership in an 80 and get into a 200 and not notice the amazing driving difference ASAP.....that's beyond my comprehension.

I think you're just messing with us. (Which is OK)

That is absurd.

That is absurd.

Do you have a 100? If you have a 80 and 100 you would know this to be true. The driving experience isn't even close! One is a smooth running, silent operating, and cushy driving bump-soaking luxury vehicle. The other is rougher, noisier, a dog, and the front-end makes the truck bump all over the place.

Hit the trail and the 100 keeps you fresh for hours while the 80 wears you out physically. Of course I am old.

Now you're talking about two different things, Shotts.

Yes, though I stand my ground. I'll write the same thing another way.........

COMPARED TO THE OLD 80-SERIES....the 100-series is a WORLD CLASS DRIVER (driving vehicle).

And any typical US buyer would agree with me. You can't discount newer technology.

That's not "the same thing [written] another way," Shotts. The first time you wrote that the 100 series was a "world class driver." Now you're saying, "compared to the 80 series, the 100 series is a world class driver." One is objective, and one subjective. Two completely different things.

You need english lessons. The entire sentance and paragraph shows it (the 100) was compared to the 80 series.

As much as it pains me to say this, I went back and reread your post, and it is now clear to me that you were comparing the two, as opposed to simply touting the 100. I apologize.

Ha ha ha ha ha !! Try getting out of a 62 and into a 100 !! That's when you really do appreciate the well roundedness (don't think that's a real word but you get my drift) of the 100 ! Still, I love my 62. I get all sorts of compliments on it. And the 100...Well, pretty much just another SUV to the uneducated. I like the the 80 though. Good compromise between an archaic 62 and a modern 100.

OK, back to the thread topic... I was driving around today and was behind a new Sienna...Boy, there sure is a strong resemblance to the 200 as far as the rear end styling goes. Mainly the shape of the tail lights and rear bumper. Still though, it's styling isn't perfect (200's, not the Sienna's ) but it's better than most !! And, at least there is aftermkt support for the 200.

But the Sienna gets better gas mileage! And has more cargo room. And it's easier to get into. And nobody who has a 200 is going to take it offroad anyway.

I'm just kidding, actually.

I can imagine! I also think that's one reason the non-100 owners defend and attack 100 owners when they point out all the improvements in the 100. They're "OK" with their 80's because they haven't experienced the superior new 100. That's OK...ignorance is bliss. :D

By the way....this is why I keep an open mind about the 200. Sure it's a tad lower to the ground and the bumpers are BIG.....BUT.......I just read about the new 6" lift for the Tundra. New knuckles and all.......who knows what may come available for the 200. If it's 4-6 inches.....LOOK OUT! Imagine an even more luxo-rig than the 100 and with the needed goods. WHOA!
