80 Body Armor

Searched last night but couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm thinking of building my 80 & I'd like to start with some body armor in preparation for CM2012. Even considering a exo-cage. Anybody know of any links that have pictures, designs, or ideas for the 80's? I've got access to a bender & welder.

What trails are you planning on running that you'll need body armor other than a skid plate and sliders? For actual body armor (sheet metal) take a look at pics of Wrench's truck or Action Jackson's rear quarter protection.

I just did my own rear quarter panel armor. IMO, it's all the "exo" armor you'll need. Here's the link:

Not much at CM would ever call for a eco-cage. Sliders are the most important IMO. OEM receiver hitch will protect the back pretty good. You can always remove the rear bumper corners for more clearance. Same up front.

But if you got the budget throw on front and rear bumpers too. Then your pretty much set for whatever you want to run at CM12.
