Sched app is pretty cool. So many choices, so little time. How does this work if say we signed up for a trail ride on Friday, but after a long day on the trail Thursday, my 11 yr old decides she'd rather join the fishing derby but it's full? Is this something we'll be able to change once the reality of being on the trail all day long hits us?

Glad you like the Sched app. I am talking to our "IT team" to see how we can handle last minute adjustments like what you describe. It's pretty much a given that lots of people are actually pretty "wheeled out" after a day or so. Especially if it's not something you typically do. I will post up our plan for handing this soon.
thx

Thoughts on doing Poughkeepsie to Corkscrew w/o a rear locker? I've got the other required equipment except that. I'm currently signed up but am happy to give up my spot if it's really required and I'll be causing problems/holding people up on the trail.

Do you have Atrac? How familiar are you with wheeling with it? If not very familiar, I'd not tackle the wall without a locker. It takes some doing to get an Atrac truck up if the driver isn't practiced in how Atrac works.

I do have ATRAC. I didn't mention that because I thought all cruisers have it but maybe not? I've done a bit of wheeling with it but wouldn't call myself super experienced. I was kind of hoping to challenge myself and the truck in a situation where there's a bunch of other experience drivers around, I was thinking this would be a pretty good learning experience but maybe it's a bit much. I'll look at switching my schedule up.

Honestly I'm in the same boat as @dfinn. I want to do poughkeepsie and want to really put it to the test. I've got some experience(at least I think so) with the atrac and want to challenge it. What am I really in for. Like him I don't want to hold up the trip though. @bluecruiser

there's some pretty good videos on youtube @Dzrtcrzr. I watched a couple of them. Always hard to tell from vids since they make everything look easier but if it's dry it doesn't look that bad. If it's wet at all I could see it being a real handful. One of the videos mentioned that there are winching points that have been installed at the top to use. I'm hoping to have my bumper and winch on before the trip but it will be close and I wouldn't want to rely on that so I went ahead and changed my plan to do the wall bypass so that I can at least watch and see what it's all about.

The Poughkeepsie wall looks intimidating when sitting at the bottom looking up. When sitting at the bottom, the route on the far right is the most flat way up meaning your tires should maintain contact with the rock face even though it's steep. I've found this to be the easiest way up in my Jeep but I really don't have the desire to run my stock Cruiser up the wall. I suspect it would manage with a little finesse though...

@dfinn and @Dzrtcrzr - I think you both have the right attitude. I'd go ahead and sign up for it. Worse case is after 3 attempts we can send people around to the bypass. I think Poughkeepsie is one of the best trails in the area, regardless of doing the Wall or not. We will have a truck up top with a winch ready to go, also. thx guys!!

I'm now getting excited about this trip and meeting everybody! So figured I'd stop and say hi, also thought I'd annoy you guys with some questions that have already been asked!

Are my tires good enough? I have Geolandar A/T G015 purchased in December that have about 20k on them. They are P rated tires :/. Picking up a spare this week and don't know if I should stick with that A/T G015's with P rating or upgrade to some LT rated BF KO2 or equivalent for the spare with the future in sight.

I have a stock car, any trails besides "the wall" that I can't do? I'm signed up for Black Bear Saturday, then Imogene on Sunday. I decided I would sign up for the harder trails at the end of the trip hoping my northern rust bucket of a car survives them and I get comfortable offroading. I will be removing the running boards, mud flaps, and relocating the hitch wiring prior to the event.

Any recommendations for a inexperienced driver? I've driven 50k miles in my car since picking it up in March of last year. Sadly all paved roads with some jobsites and new residential devlopments thrown in the mix which don't count in my book as off road. So I hope to learn quickly how to handle the beast off road.

Finally, any food request/ideas for the potluck? Cincinnati, Ohio here. I'm panning on bringing Graeter Ice Cream Black Raspberry Chip (I heard Oprah Winfrey likes it). Can't think of what we have here that others would be interested in.. I think we have a lot of in Ohio :/ (Skyline chili, Glier's goetta, Montgomery Inn ribs)??

For now, all schedule choices on the Sched app are editable. We have not yet determined a day/time to lock them in. That leaves flexibility but can also be difficult to manage. We want you to be able to do what makes sense for you and will keep you and your passengers happy, so having you drop a trail for the Molas Lake fishing opportunity will likely not be an issue (as long as we stay under the 20 trucks, which looks like it will). Long story short, we will have ability to be somewhat flexible. thx

Much thanks @bluecruiser - seems the majority of trail rides are already listed as full. When you say the choices on the app are editable, does that mean that we can get into trail rides that are currently listed as full?

Just that you can move from non-full trails to other non-full. Watch next day or so, we are likely tweaking some of the trails that aren't getting much love and adding more of what is.

@TheHomeBuilder - I wouldn't sweat the P rated tires too much, just keep an eye out for a rock flipped up that could poke the sidewall of your tires. Airing down the tires reduces the chance of rock inflicted tire damage and also improves the ride over the rough roads. There is air available in Ouray and Silverton, not to mention several folks with on board compressors.

Driving the roads won't be very technical, but don't be afraid to ask for help/assurance. Use low range. Use your transmission to control speed on descent and to lock it in gear on the accent.

So our very first recommendation is always tires. The trails have a lot of sharp shale on them. You can do the P rated, but I wouldn't air down as much as others with ATs and you definitely won't want to tackle Poughkeepsie. You could do any other option, the shale is always going to be a risk on all trails. Having a solid spare will be key just to be prepared.

As far as food goes, anything sounds good to me. thx
