78- Series Tire Issue

Well I need some help- I have worked on HJ 60 series trucks. Recently I have come to help at a hospital (not with trucks) in W. Africa and they have a 78 series.
I met the truck when I first came as they were taking the front end apart. I asked what was going on they said it was shaking on the road above 100KM an hour.

I let them rebuild it and it didn't solve the problem, so I drove it and then rotated tires, that solved the problem. It has been back on the road for 1-2 months and just yesterday one of the expats came to me saying it was shaking again. I pulled the front tires off and found the front tires are bald on the inner edge closest to the block.

I am in a bit of an isolated location, and about 6 hours from the city.

What do you think, should I try to align it again myself, or should I send it to the city and have the wheels balanced, and an alignment done on it?
 
Sounds kinda like negative camber from a bent axle housing.
 
thanks guys, if it is from bent axle housing do you think that it would be easy to see or what should I be looking for?
 
Exactly what model is it? A troopy or a coil sprung 4dr wagon? Its going to be bit hard to visually identify a bent axle housing while its on the vehicle.
 
its really hard to bend a land cruiser front diff with just road travel. stupid large tires, jumping into mud holes etc might bend the axles.
1/8th inch tow in. measure the front of the tire, measure the back of the tire same spot. 1/8th to 3/16th.
what i do is use a framing square from the locations on the tire down to the floor. this is one of the easier ways to do an accurate adjustment.
finally, make sure the rod clamps are tight, not over tight.
also, while you have the truck in the air check the wheel bearings for any slop.
