So, I've been searching on this forum about installing the windshield with gasket unfortunately after I installed the windshield frame to the tub. I was wondering how many installed it with the frame mounted to the tub opposed to removing it and laying it flat. Is it that more difficult with the help of two other people while on the tub? FYI, the 40 is going through a frame off restoration so the front fenders are not installed yet. I can remove the frame, but I know there is always the possibility of damaging the painted areas while doing do so.

easy peasy installing windshield in frame on rig
if you need a replacement that is how it is done, the frame isn't removed from the rig

A lot depends on the gasket. Are you going to try and re-use the 77 one. Good luck.

Obviously easier to do it laying down.
But still not a terrible one person job with it on the cruiser.

I have a repro from City Racer. Is the original one removed from the 40 easier to install?

its never easier reusing an old gasket, but in this case i would have went with a new oem.
