Brand new to the group and request some feedback from you guys that obviously know what you are talking about. I just picked this up on eBay and got some additional pictures after the sale. I see a lot of gloss black and red which may be covering some things up. Seller says there is no rust at all on this vehicle. Do you see any need for concern?

I've been curious about that one also. I was also puzzled by the bits of red I could see under chips. Did you ask the seller with the paint code is on it or if it has had a tub replacement?

$16K

There was not a tub replacement or frame off restoration. The new owner did reprint it, but I did not ask about a color code. New interior, lights, headliner, emblems, tires, etc.

43K miles

No more pictures....that's all I could get which isn't much. The engine and underside photos came after the auction. I appreciate any input you can give me.

Yeah looks like the guy painted it up just to make it look good. You can see the rust inside the frame where he didn't get paint. Also with the shock extended it makes it look like he just painted the shocks.

The rust that I'm talking about doesn't look to be a problem but the frame and shock painting seem hacked. It doesn't seem like a $16k truck to me. More like $10-12 at best and I would want to see it in person.

Everyone's interpretation of a restoration is different, standards really vary. In his listing he said " car looks like it did the day it rolled out of the assemly line. " in my opinion cars that look like they came off the showroom floor sell for 50k plus. It implies he's loose with his assessment. Not trying to discourage you. Its just really hard to tell with what he's provided.

Have you paid in full? Or given the deposit? I'm not positive I would go through with the sale. With painting like that, it seems like they are trying awfully hard to cover stuff up.

I do not like the green wire hanging under the driver front fender, or the poor masking job on the front fender for $16k.

Uphill365 is a great guy and friend of mine. Anyone up that way who could check this out for him??

Where is up there? Got a link to the eBay ad. Funny how he didn't show any undercarriage pics until the auction ended.

Its a little too far for me. At least a 2+ hr drive one way. Post up under Yankee Toys in the club section. We have a lot of members in CT and someone might be willing to check it out.

I repeatedly asked the seller for undercarriage and engine pics and just got excuses. The title thing worried me too. Title was still in previous owners name but seller had rig for a year.

Title not in his name would kill the deal for me. Unless he had a prior registration in his name. Ct doesn't issue a title after so many years.

RUN!!!! an honest seller will give you what you want.... That looks like the tub was Mustard yellow faded to the new tan in the floor board pic. Many have been thru what you have.... Find an Original paint or a repaint with before and after pics and an "Honest" seller willing to give you the info and Pics you request... RUN.. did I say that again??? My 2 cents.. Good Luck!

Agree with above! I've been there, done that...not fun!!! I hope it works out for you, still not sure if you paid in full.

Also green bare wire hanging in driver wheel well. Painting old shocks red "Hack" all signs of a bondo skimp and flip.. Does not look like a quality "fix up"
