seriously, the 13BT sucks with the manual tranny and the auto rocks both on and off road.
my favorite color and lockers to boot.

second seriously, if you can't afford that price you can not afford to be involved in Cruisers ... period.

I can't afford that price right now, but what I was really looking for was something that I can buy realitively cheap and use straight away and then build up as funds allow.

I'm trying to get back into wheeling after having kids, moving house etc. and wanted to find something that I can get into and use, but can go on to build into something much more capable. From what you guys have been saying and what I've read, it looks like I'll just have to spend the money and buy a heavy duty 70 to start with.

I found this: Toyota Landcruiser 70 [ tradecarview ]

Not exactly budget, but certainly would be a good starting point. I wonder if they take credit cards?

FYI I used a 1kz half cut, best thing I did. No major dramas to date and if the head does ever go...cheap enough for a replacement..haha.

Hey there gotoy, I am looking at the half cut option for a 1kz but not having much luck for a supplier to the uk, any recommendations?

Thanks

i thought the other one was 2600 pds?

It was but it's e-bay, so as of right now it's £3100 with over 1 day of bidding to go. To be honest that BJ74 is pretty nice condition, I'm sure if I hold out for something that needs more tidying it will be within my reach.

My brother-in-law is now tempting me with a good price on his Land Rover Defender, but I've wanted a LC for a long time so I think I just need to save my cash and keep looking for the right one.

the HZJ77: US$ 13,175
the BJ74 £3,100.00

and i import from japan and the 77 is a parts truck with a price of a much cleaner unit.

i just can't see how the 77 is a better deal you can afford over the 73 which is much cheaper??

land rover ... :gag:

Hi, I am looking for guidance. I have a LJ78 with a 2L-TE engine with a 151F manual. The engine is not doing well. I thought of replacing it with a 1KZ-TE because I've read that this engine fits perfectly, works well with the existing trans. I've read that the 1KZ-TE also has head issues, so....I've been looking at 1KD-FTV engines. Will it fit nicely in the LJ78 engine bay, mounts? Will it fit a 151F? Please share your experience. Thank you in advance

start your own thread would be more beneficial I think.
