For an FJ cruiser?!? (it does have those OEM locking hubs...)

"All original FJ55. This truck came from Arizona, with one owner from 1977 through 1988 and then 20 yrs. in storage. 137,700 fully documented miles and service records maintained in a meticulous log. F155 engine, 4 speed manual transmission, 4WD. Power brakes (drum) and AIR CONDITIONING. Has original jack, fire extinguisher, and toolbox. Original style wheels and hubcaps. Body very straight and solid. No frame rust.

Minimal rust was repaired, exterior repaint- white and rustic green. Interior is all original, down to the floormats. Headliner needs replaced and I have but not installed. Driver side front seat has tears, passenger side good, and rear seat perfect. Door panels are original, but backing boards have been replaced with new. Rear power window works.

New exhaust, starter, battery, all brake components, clutch master cylinder, tires, tune up kit, shocks, fuel tank, rebuilt carb, and roof rack. Etc.

Runs and starts great- no smoke, no oil leaks. 4WD works as it should (original locking hubs). All lights, gauges, etc. works. Good driver, new brakes. Emergency brake works as well.

This is an extremely rare vehicle, in very good original condition, complete, with extraordinary documentation. It also has a rare Hone Overdrive unit installed (inoperable, would require repair) which reduced the 411 gear ratio to 287 for highway use in two wheel drive only.

Partial trades will be considered, prefer fj40, fj60 landcruiser, jeep cj8, etc. An FJ Cruiser trade also a possibility. Send info and pics for consideration."

Was hoping to cull the herd once the '76 was done, an effort to recoup cash expended on the two Pigs, and sell the FJC, but this is tempting to trade, although I'd think a lesser sale price plus cash for my FJC would be in order.

Last thing I need to do, period, but who often would someone actually list a trade for an FJC for a Pig?

I just don't know that I could leave well enough alone, since you know it needs some attention, somewhere, and that was the reasoning behind staying away from the upper tier of Pig pricing.

In retrospect, though, a good solid body that needs no attention, whatsoever, including proper coatings and paints is a $6-10k endeavor.

Would be a perfect patina'd Pig if represented accurately, and a cool addition, as is, but I'm not so sure it wouldn't be a resto candidate, since the starting line is five miles ahead....IF represented accurately.

What is concerning is the price, while it may seem high, isn't representative of a restoration cost.

Chris,

They all need attention to the body. It's rusting away from the inside out, just slowed down. If the body has never been treated for rust prevention, deep inside those body panels and you know where the spots are by now, it will rust through. Maybe better to start with a rust free body and strip it, treat it and then paint it. At least, you know for sure what you have,
