I have a 1974 FJ40 that a neighbor dropped a tree through the roof of. The roof is a total loss and the metal was bent to a pretzel.

That being said, I have picked up a CCOT Rain Gutter as well as a classic cruisers reproduction fiberglass lid but I can not seem to find the correct windshield cap to save my life.

I ended up picking one up but failed to realize that they are different year to year. The one I currently have sits proud of the windshield by 3/4" and does not have the cutouts for the top mounted wipers. I believe it may be for a 75-78 based on the photo below.

Does anyone know where I can track down a 68-12/74 windshield cap? I am open to condition, I just cant seem to find one for sale anywhere!

If the sits proud of the windshield it because it was mounted in the wrong spot. I used a early 78 hard top on my 2/73 FST when was stored outside.

I had to remove the wipers for it fit but it fits against the windshield frame. Holes didn't line up because 75+ only used two versus four bolts. When you get the correct piece would suggest you bolt to the windshield with gasket in place then mark the fiberglass. I personally do not have spare a visor in that range.

As for CCoT it is disappointing a Land Cruiser speciality company that has been around as long as they have can't get dates correct. The late visor started 9/77 with 78 model. The difference is the cutout for the washer nozzle that started with the 78 model.

I have this piece, but I think shipping costs would be prohibitive.

Throw a wild number at me.....
WAG (not in the shop at the moment): $125 for the part, and $150 to ship.

I just got an early steering box (40+” in length) in yesterday for a rebuild that the customer paid $143 to ship. Granted a visor is lighter. But it’s longer, and I’d have to strap it to a piece of wood to hopefully get it there safely.

I use USPS priority mail for 66+ inch muskets to the West Coast for less than $100 with insurance. Mount it to a board and mail it in a long box.

I drove to SLC and back to boise to get a 4sp with transfer case because it was way cheaper than truck freight plus I got the Chevy AA bell housing for free.

I used to ship long aluminum extrusions in pvc pipes. Up to 6’ was fairly common and reasonable.

Per my signature line, I will be back in the shop on Tuesday
