I have bought a rebuilt F motor from spector... it is for my 1973 40. The sticker on the side of the motor says F155. I hear this is a hybrid F/2f motor from a 74.
The problem is:  the new motor is not identical to my original in that the oil pump has to be mounted on the right, passenger side, of the motor. Also the head does not have ports for the smog air rail.
Spector is overnighting the necessary oil pump bracket. As I understand it removing the smog equipment will create vacuum problems with my DUI distributor as far as the vacuum advance. I am using the original carburator that has Aisam printed on it??

Any ideas on how to get the vacuum corrected? I need to have this done tomorrow if possible. Thanks

My 74 has been desmoged and I'm running the stock distributor without any problems. The 74 F has better oiling than the 73 F. The Stock US 74 Head should have plugs where the air rail mounted.

I'd run it

Did your rebuilt come with a distributor? Because the 74 takes a differant distributor than the 73
