First off, this is a diesel for diesel swap. Mine is a B motor 4 speed. It has been kept operating with duct tape and bubble gum as parts are difficult here in the US. I definitely want to keep a diesel and have found a 3B and 5 speed/transfer case combo..
Secondly, the B is a 1975 from Costa Rica with a GM PS setup and AC added and has a manual fuel cut off. The vacuum pump for the accessories is on the back of the alternator (12 volt).
The 3B has all it's accessories with it but I am sure that there are things that the B setup won't support on the 3B. I will keep it a 12v system whatever I do.
so, any advice as to what additional items I need to look up and acquire for as smooth a swap as possible?
Thanks in advance for any help in making my decision. I really don't want to do the V8 type swap at all.

Kurtis at Cutting Edge Engineering is just putting a new Cummings 6BT in his Freena crane replacing a worn out Perkins. He bought it off a guy that was going to put in a Land Cruiser down under. Has several performance enhancers - will be a racing crane when he is done.

There's very little difference between a B and a 3B (especially if the 3B is a pre-1988 model with metal plates on the side to inspect the pushrods).

If you are going from non-standard PAS and AC to the originals on a 3B, you will most likely need new hoses. Does the 3B have a full PAS and AC setup, with mounting brackets and tensioner pulleys?

There is no mounting brackets for AC compressor or power steering pump on the 3B I'm looking at. I'll either source some or try what's on my B.
