I pulled out the front factory bench seats to put in some buckets from a Trooper. The center seat back rest had a box inside of it connected to the fuel tank with 4 hoses. Sorry, no pics.

I assume it part of the smog stuff and aids the charcoal canister in trapping fuel vapors.

I am going with buckets and need to move or remove it.

Can someone tell me first, what it is exactly, then options for moving it? What happens if I plug the hoses and just get rid of it?

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

it's the fuel vapor recovery unit; any vapor from the tank is returned

it is not a good idea to remove it as you will then have vapor pressure in the fuel line

I kept the passenger side of the bench and just installed a new seat for myself - I don't have passengers very often and if I do, oh well... :hillbilly:

If you do remove it, you need to add some way for the gasoline
tank to vent excess pressure (one option is to simply drill a hole
in your gas cap). Do a search and you'll find more on this.
