I purchase this LC on Craig's while I was shopping for LR parts so I'm new to these trucks.i had finished a frame off on a110 LR at the end of 2012 and I didn'needed another rest.but after I loaded the top on the LR with lots of junk, I needed something to go topless and this was the ideal toy.
The photos I will be posting are from my IPhone so quality it's not the best
I did not clean the garage or setup to take these photos ( I think that's the reason some rest.take 10 years to complet)
I join this forum at the same time I purchased the LC and that was on January of2013 and was finished on December of 2013, all done in my garage except for sandblast the tub and powder coat.
Be patient with me as computers are not my thing and ingles is my second language.
Thanks for all the good information I got from this super forum and it's members.

hmmm, truck looks familiar, or more accurately the bezel looks familiar ... maybe you have posted pictures in another thread ... looking forward to following your refurbishment ...

This LC lived it's life on east coast so rust was part of the deal.I don't have many photos of the rust since I was going to fix'it I don't want any bad memories. The rust was on the usual places like, rockers, quarter panels, fenders, rear sill, rear frame member and some patches on the tub.

Will have Moore tomorrow we don't want to finish this to fast.

hey, moving right along there ... looks good ... were you able to save the OEM rocker panel brackets that actually make the rocker panels rust, or did you buy new ones, or maybe yore not reusing/replacing them with the new rockers ... I can't seem to find them and may end up just reusing what I have or making them ...

I don't know what brackets you are talking about, what I did was patch the tub floor that extends out to the rockers ,you can see,'it in the photo where the rocker is cut.

After the rockers ,quarter panels and patches I decided to build a roll cage for littler safety but most for looks since I don't do much off road. After reading on pirate 4x4 and find some prints for a tube bender so I decided to fab my own.

I use some scrap 2x2x1/4 tube ,air piston from HF and I had a friend cut me the arms to replace the wood ones I made for testing and the roll cage started taking shape.

Tomorrow it's another day thanks for looking.

Too funny. I ended up going to Josh's house to look at that one. I ended up buying the yellow one that he had. Went to pick mine up in early January I was telling my buddy about this one but by the time we talked to him about it it was already sold.

Cool tube bender. That cage turned out sweet, well done!!

The doors look good. I'm assuming you are from somewhere in New England?

I'm in CT and I live 40 minutes from Josh's .

Frame had surface rust but the rear member was in bad shape. After looking at the cost of buying replacement parts to repair I decided to fab. In house out of 2x4 tube.

Wow...you do nice work

Thank you,
You did a nice job on yours.
The engine in the truck is the original F155 with 58000 miles,I was only able to drive it in to garage, had no power and miss firing real bad.Did a compression test and I had 120/125 on all the cylinders so was time to dig deeper.Pull the head out, valves and seats were in bad shape and#5 piston had broken rings and broken ring seats.I found a new piston and full set of rings, clean the cylinders, had the head rebuild with new valves check the crank bearings, new rear oil seal, new clutch and throw bearing, gaskets, paint and hope for the best as I'm not a mechanic.

Very talented work, I like it. With that short cab, are you going to fit in there?

Thanks for the kind words.I think this cab is the same as a 45 truck unless the doors are wider on the 45. I'm 5/8 so I fit ok and with tilt steering column and moving the steering wheel couple inches forward works out good for me but if I had to do it again I would move it back couple inches .
Something I don,t look forward to is body work but I did my best.
