I actually am having a friend do most of the body work and paint. I am learning from him, he has been doing paint and body for awhile. He is actually going to paint the outside of the tub tomorrow. I will try to post more pics soon.

Resto progress

I did the mini truck power steering conversion. I picked up a used steering box, cleaned it up and painted it. I cut my steering column by about three inches, bought the ps box bracket and I cut the steering shaft and welded the rag joint adapter on. I have yet to get the ps hose or pump.:p

Great work, and another killer paint job! Between you and apeterson, you guys have thrown me for a loop when it comes to choosing a color for my cruiser! Both look awesome, both colors i would have never picked! I WAS thinking blue, now I dont know what the hell to do! I guess I will have a beer!

Thanks for all of the positive feed back on my 40. The color I chose from a Dupont Color Book. The paint code is YS454, it is a Dupont Chroma base paint. I want to call off sick for the next month or so, so I can this thing going

fantastic so far. outstanding color, great detail !!! keep up the great work , cant wait to see it finished . p.s. a honda for a cruiser ?? who made out on that deal ? :hhmm: old cruisers never die , there just harder to find !!!!:steer:

Yeah, my buddy shot that on. It was his first time shooting liner. That stuff went on real good and dries quick. The kit I got came with a gun, the 4 containers and activator. Pretty impressed with it

Update!

Still trucking along, fenders are painted and mocked up, hood is painted and grill bib is painted. I did some of the wiring with KeepItCLean harness. Like many, have hit snags with wiring switches, thinking of going to some aftermarket switches.

More update

I have done alot of little stuff I will take more pics and post. The other snag I ran into is the ex. manifolds. Being a newbe, I didn't realize how tight it is on the driver side when you run mini truck power steering with a V8. Wel,l ts real tight. I have been researching and it looks like the Sanderson cast iron headers might work. I tried the ram horn center dump, not even close. I just dont want to spend an arm and leg on Sandersons if they are not going to work.

ready for update!!

Well its been kind of slow going lately, but I started working on it more. I was frustrated with the clearance on the driver side with the mini truck ps conversion so I tore it off and I am in the process of doing a saginaw conversion. My buddy is coming over tomorrow to hopefully finish the paint on misc parts. Once I get the steering done, I will button up the engine and the wiring. I will post some pics soon.
