Ask him what those plates with the 2 bolts are on the LH quarter. Looks like somewhere a step to the roof rack goes

The one with the vinyl floor is a R151 in a 05 HZJ79. The one with carpet is a H151 in a 05 HDJ78. Looks like the 76 is a HZJ76 with the old gearbox.
The gearstick and tcase shifter look further forward on the H151, and closer to the aircon ducting

Hello,

The hood scoop looks aftermarket. 1HZ with an intercooler.

The rear axle does not look factory. Modified to have the same width as the front axle, I guess.

Lever position is a bit too forward to be an H Series transmission. Is it necessary to keep the transmission in an electric conversion?

The deleted ignition suggests military application, as does the radio blanking plate. It reminds me of the switch system used in old military trucks.

There is an on switch tucked somewhere, I guess.

The electrical gear and glove box warning label suggest custom electronics. No antennas, though.

I wonder about the wheels. Not factory, not fancy aftermarket. Some specific alloy type?

This contractor is a recce/spotter of some kind.

I was thinking the same thing. The big benefit of electric motors is they dont need a gearbox.
Parts diagrams are saying that GEN and GCC markets can still get the R151F

Agreed. Don't know where you would charge up in the middle of the desert or if you took down a power grid.
Some kind of hidden switch for the starter so the Booger Eaters won't steal them. You know how they like the Toyotas....

Which zeibart is that? I need to redo my tint and want a shop familiar with the 70.

Side note, Columbus is home to a company that outfits 7X, Rangers, Hilux, etc for defense and contracting. The trucks are likely going somewhere to support that. Not likely defense use, doubtful the aftermarket stuff would go on before armor and there aren’t any indications that it is armored. The wheels are not field serviceable. Likely for use in UAE or similar.

The Zeibart is on Wilson road between I70 and Fisher Road. The company outfitting the Land Cruisers is Battelle.
They just landed a contract with SOCOM to supply the Navy (SEALS) with vehicles. The web site says the armored vehicles retain the OEM look. The Land Cruisers didn't look armored but did look very cool. They had a 200 series on their web site that looked awesome, but it's not up now. They make the vehicles at their West Jefferson complex.

Google Battelle.org and go to government-offerings/national-security/tactical-systems for a video link on how the take the Land Cruiser down to the frame and put armor on it. They have a cool 2000 series also.
