Does anyone have pics of their 70 series fuel tanks out of the vehicle and on the vehicle? Trying to figure out if they'll fit nicely in the spare tire area of the 80 series.

TIA.

The aux tank on the troopie might, the shape/depth might be good, just depends on what side your filler neck is on, RH filler on the troopie. The BJ-70 tank is very similar, same RH filler neck side.

In Venezuela a lot of people use the 70 series tank in the spare tire area of an 80 series...not problems at all.

If you can find some pics or point me to a link with pics, that'd be great. I need a U.S. driver slide filler.

From what I understand, the 70 series tank is also a 25gallon capacity, which would be fantastic for my needs.

Thanks.

I have a 70 tank, but it is RH side fill

Can you rotate a 70 tank around to change the full side

That's correct. People rotate the 70 series tank so the filler will end up to the LH of the vehicle when they mount it on an 80 series. I just double checked this information with a couple of friends from Venezuela.

I will ask my friends to see if they can find some good photos of the install.

Excellent pics Clint, thank you. As stated already, by rotating the tank, it appears as though the fill position is slightly aft of the center of the tank. Shouldn't be too big of a deal for the dual filler neck to work with this scenario.

Ali- swing by and you can take a look at mine. It is on the truck, but you can see and touch!

Holy cow, Rob is that you? Yeah, I'd like to check it out in person. Is it the 25 gallon unit?

Thanks!

Yup. It's me. I'm not sure about total volume. I've filled 13 gallons in the past. Give me a ring or email and we'll get together.

ali

I have a 70 series tank AND an 80 series frame I will be visiting tomorrow and can take a photo of it mocked up for you.

In addition to Clint's photo I also found this:

Awesome, thank you!!

Thanks for the pic, helps out a TON!!!

So, are all 70 series tank the same capacity? I'm looking for a 25 gallon capacity if possible.

Ayyy, carramba - that's like 34 gallons US  With the two tanks, I'll be like Exon Valdez on wheels in Canyonlands :bounce:
