Could anyone please tell me what the surface texture of these roofs are,my roof was painted buy the previous owner and unfortunately not done very well, the clear-coat is starting to peal. The surface on it now is rough to the touch almost like like a texture coat for better grip,if this makes sence.
Hope to meet some of the other TLC owners in the local area once I have her all fixed up.Runs like a top since I fixed the tranny seal leak, now just a few cosmetic touch ups..
Thanks James....

Hi JImmy,

The texture on my BJ74 FRP is same - rough. Also, the paint has sort of peeled in places over time. I'd like to find out the color code and repaint.

Ive seen acouple of FRP tops painted the same colur as the body and they looked really good especially the Midnight Blue.

For the white FRP any good paint suitable for F/glass will do.

I think after 16 years it's common for the tops to lose some paint. Mine's slightly peeling in some spots too.

We should organize a JDM get-together for the Lower Mainland (and Island) sometime. Would be a great time and a cool photo to see all the RHDs. A summer BBQ somewhere maybe?

Would be cool stoney, but it'd still be a long drive for me unless by "lower mainland", you mean TEXAS! LOL

if your suggestion is for anyone willing to make the drive i would be interested in the drive out...
cheers

So, non JDM RHD's are excluded? :frown:

I agree. JP's guys are tight lipped about the real reason they don't do LC appreciation days any more.

I think it should be more like a trade show anyway. Some of the Lower mainland venders should get together and do it. Extreme Bends, G&S, LCI, TLC Offroad, Cruiser Mike, Kodiak etc. JP and Richmond Toyota might still be willing to play a lesser part. Venders from a little further away might want to show as well. It would be really cool to have Luxury, Outback, Rising sun, Mustangs etc all showing their JDM stuff as well as 4 Wheel Auto and Radd Cruisers with the aftermarket stuff. I'm sure there are more venders that I've missed (sorry). Could work it into a swap meet as well. What do you think guys?

Sorry about the hijack, should start this in chat or Coastal Crusiers I guess.

I'm all for it, Bruce. Start a thread in CC or Chat and let's see what the interest is. I'd be willing to help organize it too, even though I'm not a vendor.

I second that idea, when I lived in Vancouver we went to the first couple events.

Near the end it was cool to see US guys coming up for it.

Stone, did you start the thread????

Thanks for the replies guys,Bruce I believe your truck is the same color combo as mine ,I got the color codes last weekend, the body color is stamped into the ID plate on the firewall I will get you the code for the roof and send it to you, will be sanding it down this weekend if the weather cooperates and try to see if I can at least do a primer coat.
The get together sounds good, might be embarrassed to put my clunker up with the mint units like Stone, Greg and Bruce have :D.
Cheers James..
