Hey Guys -

Thanks for all the help. I finally cleaned and properly grounded all the lights (to no avail). I also checked the date. I have "Jul 1970" stamped on the plate on my vehicle (7/1970). It would appear the PO removed the turn signal flasher. Just to confirm it is the "turn signal flasher" mounted to the passenger side firewall? [I ask because the flasher on the driver side reads "Hazard/Turn Signal"). Also, does someone have a picture of the actual wiring connection to that turn signal flasher (i.e. is it a single connection)? I have read people using a universal/generic flasher ($6) over the Toyota part ($40). Any thoughts?

Many thanks,
Stoshzack

Ok- asking about the wiring connection because according to the wiring diagram, I shoud have a green-red and a green line going to the turn signal flasher on the passenger side. As it is, I only have a red-green connector availabe. It does not appear as though the PO cut any of the wiring harness at this location.

in my '72, there was only one flasher relay, and it was in the driver side footwell so high up that I couldn't remove it; so, I left it there and rewired the truck around it :hillbilly:

Solved: Thanks to everyone for their help! I finally got the turn signals and hazards working and I as such I can confirm that my 7/70' has only one flasher (turn/hazard combined). In case anyone looks to this for help I did the following:

1) Checked the inline fuse located under the vent in the cowl. It was hiding, more towards the driver side. My housing and fuse were toast as it had gotten wet from PO; melted to be exact. Replaced with an inline fuse from Autozone. Confirmed 12V to hazard switch.

2) Made sure all lights had a proper ground. Cleaned contact areas with wire brush and used dielectric grease at the connection. Ensured all lights worked in parking mode.

3) Replaced hazard switch. It made a clicking noise when activated, but at least it made a noise this time.

4) Replaced turn signal switch.

5) Problem solved.

Thanks,
Stoshzack
