Yeah I plan to change all the fluids. I had to remove all the brake pads just to get it to roll because they were locked. So I'm sure it needs wheel cylinders and probably drums. I pulled the float out of the gas tank to check the inside and needless to say it wasn't pretty. So it's going to need a new tank also. I put a hot battery on it and turned the key and was surprised to see that the headlights are working and the dash lights up. Also pulled all the plugs and added some mystery oil to all cylinders. It does crank so I know it's not locked up.

man i would but a good buff job on that paint and see what she looks like... awesome find and awesome deal...

my 67 is a March 66 build 43471 Frame..

Well I changed the oil and filter today. Surprisingly the oil didn't look that bad. Also picked up a new set of plugs and wires. Tomorrow I'm going to try to figure a temporary way to get fuel to it since the inside of my tank is done for.

Did you remove your gas tank, I'd take It down to a Radiator shop and see what they can do.

otherwise run down run down a good used one.

Gas tank is getting redone now at a radiator shop. Hopefully I'll get it back this week. Ordered a new sending unit and fuel pump tonight. Got a new filter the other day. Just need new lines now.

Can I ask you, where did you find the fuel sender is It used or NOS ?

It's new. Found it on SOR. They've got the gasket and screws too.

What happened to your addiction?

It's become a money pit! But I see you've just purchased a '67. I guess I'm due for an update to this thread.

Nice one, seems like it really is solid. I am jealous of the lack of decay on the back.

Funky additions as well,
Enjoy!

Way cool! I like the thought of keepin it stock...A/c thats awsome!!!

Well it's been a little over 5 years and I'm still digging into this project a little at a time. I have had time to drive it around and enjoy it. As most of you know, sometimes life gets in the way of these types of projects. Since buying this rig, I have had to leave it covered out in the weather, moved to a different city, took a new position in my job, bought a house, and got married. Things are finally settling down and I'm back to working on the list of things I want to get done. I'm not the best at documenting progress, but here are a few pics I have taken along the way. Most of them are iPhone pics so I apologize if the quality isn't great.

Bought a set of OEM steelies and cheap tires just to roll it in and out.

Rebuilt the Rochester Carb that was on it and quickly realized it was a piece of junk. Throttle linkage was rigged as well as the choke cable. Also installed a header to replace the one that was rotted out and purchased new brake and clutch master cylinders and rebuilt all the brakes with new wheel cylinders. I was quickly becoming a VIP at $OR with my weekly parts orders...

I putted around the neighborhood like this for a year or more just replacing things as I saw necessary. The first major upgrade became the brake system. A local cruiser guy @tyama had a good front axle out of a '78 40. He had used a few items for a disc brake project that he did and I swung by and purchased what was left. I needed the axle housing and all as my truck had a ball and claw front end.

It was also about this time that I would be following my new bride to Little Rock to start our lives together while she finished up med school and a residency program.

Once we were settled in to our new home, I began piecing together mini truck parts for my front axle build. I found a guy in Texas that had abandoned his mini truck front end and had all the extra parts I needed. I picked them up on my way home from a visit to see family in Houston.

I rented an OEM knuckle centering tool from a member here and got to work. I had never done a job like this but I took my time and read plenty of threads on the topic and feel that I came out ok. I also used Marlin's inner axle seal for the job

Had to clearance the axle for the larger mini truck birfs

Man when people told you to take it slow, you certainly listened to their advice ;)

Just kidding, welcome back - great original cruiser!!

I was following along with @1973Guppie 's mini truck front axle build. That is a great thread for anyone looking to do this project.

Took the axle shafts by @YotaJosh to have the martack done as I don't own a welder.

Finished product next to the DD

So everything has been well and good and then one day one of our local club guys @cyberfalco decides to part out his 60. That got my wheels spinning. It was an '87 with a smooth running 2f and trollhole carb. He drove his truck often and I had been around it and wheeled with him enough to know the motor was a good one. Long story short, I bought it from him.

It's dirty and greasy, but it would undergo a thorough cleaning as well as get new paint, seals, and gaskets.

Turd polishing. I have become talented in this field since buying this truck.

So this is where I am. Old motor is out, Frame rails have been cleaned up and sprayed with rust converter. Engine is degreased and awaiting engine enamel. I have a load of small parts (4spd bell housing, motor mounts, accessory brackets) at the sand blaster now. I have an H41 4 speed that is somewhere between Albuquerque and Arkansas on a Fastenal truck now. It will be mated to a 3 speed case that I will be picking up from @CruiserCoLittleRock. Once this phase is complete, the truck will receive @Poser 's rear disc kit and I'll hopefully be back on the road before it turns to winter.

Glad to see you left the body alone, it looks great.

Just picked up a red 77 with very similar pinstripes...which I dig

I am sad to have parted out the 60 but it just wasn't in the budget to fix it up or find a new carcass for all my parts. Hated to see stuff sit and rot away.
