So, new radiator and t stat are in and she's running cooler than ever. Nolen has driven my truck to Richland and back so he can attest to the temp gauge (formerly) hovering around mid way.

Now, to the a****** that left a pair of vice grips in the oreillys parking lot, I hope you die in a fire:

Chris: are these covered under a road hazard warranty? Either way, please order me up a new one

I will tell that the nicest guy ever (Wilburt the yard man) saw and heard my tire explode from across the street. He came across and helped me change the tire. Nicest guy ever. Hot as balls outside and he helped in a big way. No one in oreillys so much as walked outside.

I problem fixed. Another issued surfaced.

Can someone tell me what this is that just started leaking. It's never leaked before. Just walked out in the garage to check things over and notice a puddle on the floor from this source:

It's just to the rear of the tire I just changed on the front passenger side

For what's it's worth (on my truck with a new 2F temp sender in the Vortec and the simultaneous digital readout of the Scan Gauge), halfway up the gauge, maybe a hair past is in the 195-200 degree range. Down lower is in the 180 range. And right at orange is 220.

So, with a Vortec, seeing the needle in the orange scares the sh*t out of you unless you realize that it's actually a normal temp.

The stock 60 gauge gets a bad rap as being inaccurate, but I've found it to be the opposite.

Just an FYI to put some numbers to the gauge.

Passenger heater line. It's probably leaking where the rubber hose ties into the hard line and is dripping down.

Tighten the clamp, maybe add a second and recheck.

I have two clamps and it still dribbles just a touch. So I live with it.

Did you at least get a free pair of Vice Grips or are they toast?

Do you have spare BFG MT? Or is this the new spare?

Yes, the vice grips are mine, unless Chris wants them for his cookie jar displays that show all the stuff they have pulled from tires (razors, bolts and now small vice grips). I did have a spare km2 and I'm going to take the wounded soldier ti Chris for fix or replace) .

The leak culprit is this little open air hose which comes out I
Of the fire wall and points down right on top of those heater lines (I turned it side ways so you can see it better. I can't see or feel anything (like a fitting, etc..) that it should be attached to and has come loose. Weird.

Is it just the condensate dripping from your AC evaporator?

I guess, you would know better than me. It was just enough liquid to form a decent sized puddle so it alarmed me.

I'll quit hogging the 60 thread. Cam I may hit you with a pm later on if it keeps happening. I'll get Chris's guys to take a look too when they are doing tires.

Taste it :grinpimp:. Big, clear, tasteless, alarmingly large puddles are just the water running off your AC coil. (Assuming you are running the AC)

If it is sweeter than unicorn tears, it is coolant.

congratulator valve....
