If TLC did the swap, it must have been a long time ago. Looks like an old SBC swap and not up to their current standards.

I agree. Its obviously an old swap but I doubt TLC would swap in a used engine so probably early 2000s? Im sure you could call TLC and atleast get confirmation that they did the work.

While technically still an SBC, that's a 5.7 Vortec, right? If so, that's a great engine. Maybe I'll buy that 60...
@fountainhead I think you're right. Isn't that the sort of hybrid they came out with in the trucks in '96, before the more current LS of current years?

Correct. '96 - '00. Last 'truck motor' prior to the switch to the LS based architecture. Also made an appearance in some of the land yachts (i.e. Chevy Caprices and Buick Roadmasters).

I would love to see you with that 60! I like that rig!

Am I missing a vent hose on my dizzy cap? If so, where it it suppose to pipe to? Is it supposed to go into the cab like the other vent hose?

The small vent connects to the air cleaner, or maybe the tee in the PCV hose. It pulls in fresh air from the vent line to the cab.

I got the heavy ass head off my block today. I got a real nice surprise that this block is a 4.4 already.

This is a pretty big deal. Hopefully they ground the cam while they were at it....

Those that have replaced their charcoal canister with a VC120 or similar. What did you do with the 3rd hose on the top (not sure what it’s called what it goes to). It’s a smog part right? My smog is inactive so I just plugged the hose, any harm in that?
