Just picked up this FJ62 a few weeks ago. This is my first LC, have had a few 4runners. This is turning out to be a very nice upgrade. Had the 3FE oil galley plug fail right after purchase - that was a minor heart attack.

1. 1988 FJ62
2. Bill Brooks - I'm the third owner. First owner was Fire chief/marshal of Camano island and had VHF/UHF radios installed. He kept it pretty much stock. Second owner did most all the mods.
3. Name of vehicle - doesn't have one yet, kids call it the LandYacht
4. 211k
5. OME 3", ARB front bumper, smitty winch, 4x4 labs rear, rock sliders, emissions removed, VHF/UHF radios, dual battery, Tuffy security center console, Wrangler duratracs

This is a beautiful piece of engineering. Do you still have it?
Thank you. I appreciate the compliment.
I do still have it. It’s seems the past 4 years in north eastern US has shown more wear and tear (due to salted roads in winter), than the 25 years it spent in Japan. I’ve done a few mods but it’s still mostly factory. Agreed, Toyota engineering At its finest.
This photo is from a few weeks ago in Vermont.

1. Y88 FJ62. Picked up from a dealership in South Dakota, but from Nebraska previously.
2. Matt in Colorado Springs, CO.
3. S***box
4. 187k odo, unknown engine miles
5. Everything done by PO:
-3" lift
-OME suspension w/ 31's
-ARB bumper w/ Warn winch
-Home made rear bumper?
-2F upgrade: Has 2F w/ 3fe injection/intake/exhaust frankensteined to it. Seems to still have 2f head (has 5 ports for air rail).
Done by me:
-Interior
-Trans rebuild (bought, not built)- should have done a 5 speed swap in retrospect. Trans shop completely rebuilt the A440F without notification after quoting $500 for minor repairs.
-Heart attack after seeing the bill.

Don at Bear Automotive in Colorado Springs has managed to do what no one else could manage and get it running like a top. He's been amazing - top-notch.

6. Mountain fishing, daily driver

Looking to track down the previous owner that did the engine swap (Nebraska?) to see what exactly was done and mileage of donor. Came with an ih8mud.com sticker on the back window so I figured someone may recognize it.
