Curious about the front fender side marker placement. They appear to be aftermarket...but is that a stock location in other parts of the world? Also, no rear side markers? Sign of body work?
Looks stock. She apparently was a United Nations vehicle in Africa so not sure of the original country. I got the year wrong. PO tells me is it a 1992.

Gday I’m new here and have recently purchased a HJ61 after looking for what seems like an eternity.

1986 HJ61 factory turbo

ZJ1988 (Zac)

No name yet

225,000kms

it’s pretty much stock, has Falken wild Peake AT’s, OME suspension from the 80’s and an arb bull bar with side bars from the 80’s also.

Will be used mostly for weekend getaways and just cruising around with a smile on my face

Just picked this one up from my brother. He's owned it for 25 years. Pretty stoked, as this is my first 60. I have a 40 that is under the knife and own FJ Cruiser, Tundra and 4Runner, but this has suddenly become my favorite Toy in the collection.

Wow...just wow! You lucky devil, that is sweet. Sure looks like your brother looked after it, plus made a few upgrades. Leather seats etc.
You forgot all the required info, mileage, mods, etc :flipoff2: Hehe, congrats!

My bad.....242K. Original Motor and Transmittion. About 10 years ago all hoses and rubber parts were replaced. Really the only mod he has done is Dynomatted the whole rig and did the BMW M3 leather and heated seats and put in a 7" touch screen stereo.

Great looking rig. Love the patina.

- Modifications include a bad interior and awful paint, needless to say it will be re-modified. Purchased with a bad motor so the 2F will be getting swapped for a more powerful option
- Will be using as an all around vehicle get in it whenever id like, at least as long as theres no salt on the road

I had spent a casual several years looking for a good restoration prospect and had been disapointed at what I'd found. Stumbled on this old girl while in the States and recognized a fairly good truck for a restoration. Bought hr and had a local shop to the area add an OME 2" lift and complete suspension done. The shop I used was remarkable. Northridge 4x4 in Silverdale WA was nothing short of amazing in terms of customer service! My wife and I and the dog came down and picked the wagon up and headed home up the Alcan in March. 2900 miles later without a hiccup, we're home . 290,000 miles. Dirty, a bit rough but solid. Saw temps on the way home of -28 in the Interior. Truck is de-smogged, Weber 36, Front and rear diffs rebuilt, truck can go anywhere but past a gas pump. Have a lot of work ahead but the interior is usable. The truck is reliable but a little leaky. Jets in the carb are wrong. Original paint was Champagne but shot silver at a later date. No apparent accidents and the shop felt that the engine had been rebuilt at some point. It's burning some oil, feels a bit weak but solid and am looking forward to going through the rest of the beast. All steering components were replaced but it hunts on rutted roads. I had tightend the lash on the steering box with some improvement but am still not satisfied. I need to do some more research. Truck has 290K miles on her. I'll most likely rebuild the engine myself in the next year or so and work on the usual rust in the quarters and tailgate as I go. Great truck, get a kick out of the attention she gets and my wife loves driving it. The perfect utility vehicle!

OK. I’m finally getting around to it…

An informal registry for FJ60’s, BJ60’s, and HJ60’s of all types – yes. 61’s and 62’s included… This will be a sticky thread.

Rules of order – ONLY ONE post per vehicle – no comments on the thread or you will have me editing – which resembles work, to which I am averse.

What I would like you all to post… and please keep it brief, OK?

1. Year and model of vehicle
2. Name of owner
3. Name of vehicle (optional)
4. Mileage on the truck odometer
5. Modifications, if any
6. How you use the truck
7. A single photo – not very big, to save disk space

Be the first to register your truck
