I have read the threads but don’t see a definitive answer as to what aftermarket switches, if any, fit in the stock fj60 dash openings. I need it for fog lights and will add usb charging as well. Carling arb? Ones I have are smaller than the opening. Will make that work unless there is a stock size out there. Thank you!

An alternative...
I recall reading about using a stock rear defrost switch with a label conversion. Illuminated option built in.

There are no known aftermarket switches that fit cleanly in the FJ-60 dash.

Repurposing OEM switches for your needs is the cleanest way to add switches.

Carling switches are close but will require a little timing of the hole to make them fit.
5 Carling switches just fit in the ash tray opening without any cutting.

Good to know....I want to add fog lights so it sounds like I need to get an OEM switch and then just rewire to the harness and throw the one that comes with the harness out. Anyone know if you can get a switch new and the part number?

I went with a rear defrost switch. 90 seconds with some fine grit sandpaper takes the factory markings off and its ready for a label. I use it for an air compressor.

I sold a lighted rear defrost switch recently here on MUD, and I probably have a few more laying around. They are probably a lot of them floating around from part-outs.

I just got back up from the basement. I have one lighted rear defrost switch switch from an FJ60 (pushbutton) and one from an FJ62 (toggle). The openings in the FJ60 and FJ62 dashes are different.

Something to consider...

These USB ports fit almost perfectly in the holes for the little change holder if you have an OEM center console. Just needed a tiny bit of trimming the inside of the hole to match the width. I mounted mine there to keep cords out of the way of the shifter.

If you still have it and are willing to sell it I will buy it! Sounds like a perfect solution! Thank you.

For purposes of closing out my request. Done. Thanks to ToyotaMatt, got OD switch and now operates the driving lights perfectly. I’ll probably scrape off the white letters. Looks great. Thank you!

Back in the day, maybe ten years ago, Mot was living in Japan and he would sell OEM switches that were not in the USA. I was able to buy the headlight toggle switch that had two positions and fit the 62 square slots.

There are OEM not in USA switches if one was to look for them that are pretty cool. Carling switches are the cheaper route that work well if you're willing to use a file and trim open your slots.

Hey 4C, I would be interested in the FJ62 rear defrost switch if nobody else is interested as I need to make a fog light switch... Just let me know.
