awesome!!!!!!

This is the coolest thread I've seen yet on mud! Any updates? Curious to see some progress.

any new updates?

Allright Christian, 'bout damn time for a right and proper update, eh? How does she look now?

Updates indeed

This man is not a mechanic, he is a craftsman. Why did it take me so long to find this thread?

So, how is it coming?

update from a fool with no focus

Hi guys!

Sorry I haven't been updating this, but other projects (and a Bsc exam;)) has stolen focus.

I have made some minor progress, but unfortunately my silver star has expired, so no pics...

The other projects include a solar powered "powerwagon" DJ/ghettoblaster/discolight/selfpropelled music machine for the Roskilde Festival here in Denmark. 900 pounds of pure sound and bling!!!

Another project was that my girlfriend and me bought an old RV on a whim. We didn't know where to spend summer, and have talked about a roadtrip for some time, so we bought an old VW LT31 camper from 1981. It had been sitting still in a guys driveway for 6 years, so it needed ALOT of TLC!!! It took us 3 weeks to fix it, and we took it for a 2000km virgin voyage to Sweden.
Now I have a problem! The 60 was originally planned as a small expedition vehicle for her and me, but we got used to toilet, gas cookers ect. ect. really fast! So now the Juggernaut needs a new purpose...

Again, I'm sorry that I haven't updated this, but i hope to have more soon!

i like the way your going with this build keep it up:cheers:

ditto. Anything new or did you give it up for dead? I for one would like to see how you mated up that mercedes turbo, and how the rear windows look if they are in.

Well... I promised all of you an update, and especially Wile E Coyote... But you're not gonna like it...

Well... this was almost two years ago... It was a nice summers evening, the sun was low in the sky, and - a long story short, I met a girl! To her defence I must point out that she's as happy with a spanner as I am. When we moved in together we had three compressors, two of them where hers! you can see her a couple of places in the thread.

The whole plan with Project Juggernaut was to make a camping/expedition-like vehicle. But now there was two of us, and the cruiser would be too small.

So we bought this:

It is shortly mentioned in a post above, the VW LT31

And made it look like this:

Then we went and saw things like this:

And we really liked going around seeing things...

In a country that made these (its Sweden):

And we really liked it.
So we bought this:

To make in to this:

So Project Juggernaut is on the back burner whilst Project Terraincruiser get's all the attention.

Now some of you may wonder why somebody would dare to call a Volvo a Cruiser (Those of you who do may deside themselves whether it is offensive to Volvo or Cruiser) But the clue is that we are putting a Landcruiser 1KZ-T in the Volvo...

I have started a thread elsewhere here to get some intercooler info, but it has turned in to revolving around our project, and basically whether we are nuts or not. You can see it here:

Well at least you're still wheeln & camping....

So is the HJ gonna turn into a tow-behind?

Hi!

I don't think it'll end up as a tow-behind, we don't really use that here.
Most likely it'll end up as my daily driver at some point. When I get around to finish it.

As a matter of fact the whole project just became interesting again. I stumpled upon a 1HD-FTE engine and auto-box that I might try to put in instead of the 2H.

I just have to figure the electronic out though...:frown:

But the important thing is I haven't given up on it yet!

Good for you. Looking forward to watching your progress as it comes along.

Good luck with all your plans, the 60 will look great finished....

Thanks alot guys!
I was just about to write "unfortunately all my build time is going in to the Volvo" but there is nothing unfortunate about it! all is coming along nicely, and the 1KZ-T and R150F is up and running!

And I just got some really nice Michelin XZL 11.00R16 from Germany (it's not me in the pic, but from where they loaded them in Germany)

Cruiser or not, nice update buddy. After it's done, I think you should ferry that big sucker over here and tour NA in it. It should be no problem with $ or bureaucratic bull I'm sure, lol.
