OK...I think I get it now!
I was thining of some thing completely different, in that the gusseting you guyz were talking about would be from the vantage point ABOVE the bumper like you had pictured before!
So the way youre illustrating is to run diagonal gussets within the shell of the bumber, top to bottom to give more re enforcement to the shell from compression forces (i.e. if the rear of the rig/ bumper landed on a rock)...correct?
Diagonal would be better than vertical you think?
