60 and 62 frame, help!

I am sure this has been covered but I couldn’t find it. A certain cruiser company sold me an FJ62 frame when I told them I needed a 60 frame. Well I was por15ing today and saw it was stamped FJ62 on the side. As you can imagine I was not happy. I spent about $600 for the frame and about $200 for por 15, grinding discs and other various stuff. Well I was pretty upset. One phone call later I decided this company would never have my business again. They claim they told me that it was a 62 frame and that I said that it was fine. But why would I have said that if I could have gotten a 60 frame in the same condition for the same price? At that time I didn’t know that it was stamped into the frame. Or I wouldn’t be in this situation.

Well I feel a little better.

Here is the question. What are the differences? I think I read the motor mounts and tranny cross member are different. This place told me only the tranny mount is different when I called them on the phone. I really don’t want to do any fab work on the frame. I don’t have much time to do the swap and I don’t need to make it longer.

Does anyone need a rust free and por15ed 62 frame?

Thanks a lot.

Dejavu!! hahahaha
Details to follow........:hillbilly:

Well, got home today from a nice long weekend up at the in-laws in NH.
Stopped by Cruiserparts on the way home and got my new '88 62 frame for my '87 60.:censor:
Have absolutely no idea why they started cutting off the rear spring mounts, but I kept my cool when I saw it and just tied her down and hit the road.
I hope to talk with one of you guys that have used a 62 frame for their 60.
Maybe someone can write up a step by step of the changes needed. hint hint.
