As noted above, we have porta-potties being delivered to HIH HQ. If the need arises on the trail, wag-bags (Ozark Trail, Restop) and a cheap folding pottie work best. Please don't lay one down on the trail. It takes a long time for that stuff to go away and it's not the most sanitary option. Wag-bag's can be used, sealed shut and tossed in the next guys Trasharoo as a prize for being the closest to you.

They make wag-bags specifically for #1 or #2. At HIH 3, a guy unfamiliar with wag-bags managed to get a #2 in a #1 bag, I'm not even sure how.

Proper kit. The bumper dumper! A must for all Landcruiser owners!!!

The 3rd annual Southern Cruisers to Hundreds in the Hills caravan thread can be found here:

For the last three years, a few of us from the southern states have met in Albuquerque on the Thursday of the event, and made the last 5-6 hours of the drive to Ouray as a group. First year there were 3 of us, last year I think 6. This year we've got at least 4 confirmed already.

Anyone is welcome to meet up and join us that Thursday morning, July 30th. Use the above thread to post up if interested.

Awesome-I had never heard of a wag bag so funny calling the wife and telling her we needed them for the trip-great name. Think the bumper dumper is sturdy enough to stay on the truck all the time? That might keep people from tailgating around here.

CB's-thanks for the info. Is a handheld standalone recommended or what I call an in car with a wired antenna mount? The antenna would only be used temporarily for this trip so if I went that route I probably wouldn't bother with running the wiring and just crack a window/sunroof for the trails.

Starting to feel just like getting ready for a race with the truck all torn apart-, replaced all the rear control arms, front uppers, waiting for ball joints for the lowers and front bushings, it was time for the TB/water pump/coolant lines so tore that down this weekend, new rear brake caliper brackets/brake pads, sending driveshafts to be checked out, all the fluids except brake which I'll take to the shop as I'll have them finish off the a/c repair as I have a new condensor sitting in the office. At 283k the timing just worked out to go ahead and do it all before the trip.

Some last minute business (Shirts and Hoodies)

Does anyone want a HIH5 Hoodie?

Here's the deal, we operate this event with zero extra money. Everything we do is covered by registration and the little amount we had left over from last year. We are able to get hoodies along with the shirts, but there is a minimum order. If we can get more than 28 hoodies sold, they will be $30 each if we have less than 28, they will be $35 each. The problem is that we only have until mid-day on 7/8 to place the order. So, I need to know right away. We need to order at least 25, so that's the real catch.

We will do this on good faith and Chris and I will lay out the money to cover the costs. Please, if you want a hoodie (or more than 1) please be prepared to pay for it. If you are in for a hoodie, please post up here ASAP so we can get a count.

We're down to the wire. Trail request forms are coming to your email very soon, so be looking out for that. It's almost here!!!

In terms of the CB I'm planning on simply running a cheap radio with a magnetic mount steel whip antenna from amazon on the roof wired through a window/the tailgate to the radio. I'm planning on temporarily mounting the radio either on the dash with one of those sticky pads or somewhere in the passenger feet area just for the trip. Seems to me like this setup will be easier to use than a handheld version on the trails while staying mobile/easily removable. However I also am planning on using the CB throughout the trip on the highways as I will be driving from the east cost.

I'm currently running an old CB I borrowed which will be my back up for the trip with the antenna wire running through the window with no issues just for fun. I'm a total noobie to CB's so it's nice to get some radio experience in before the trip.

I feel like I'm going to be the only guy that is stock. The only extras that I'll have are my Ruggedized Gran Sabana, ARB 50q fridge, and Outback drawer systen. Nothing mechanical or suspension changed on this beast. I don't know if my Duratracs count as a mod but I have those on too. I'm perfectly ok with a stock rig for now. I did Black Bear Pass with my 2013 Tacoma and Duratracs. It did just fine.

With the name @Doubleroses we aren't expecting much. Haha. Seriously, you will be totally fine.
Fuuunnnnyyyy!

Doubleroses is because I have a half sleeve on my left arm of two roses. Probably comes off a bit feminine but it's a memorial for my grandmother and best friend who have passed away. I still use that username because I lack the imagination needed to come up with a catchy Land Cruiser one. Plus, that's the one I use on Expedition Portal and Tacomaworld. Keeps things simple :)

I look forward to meeting new people and doing some wheeling!

Unfortunately I probably won't get in till late on Thursday since I work until 5pm. Hopefully I'll be there before 10pm.

Cool! Look forward to meeting you. Totally a great story about your screen name.

My family and I will be camping around Colorado the week before HIH. Are people arriving on Thursday? We will probably arrive in Ouray on Wednesday and take in the town wed thurs. Just wondering if our camp spot is available for early arrivals. Thanks-mike.

Is the sponsor list on post #2 up to date?

Proper bar has an ice rail to keep the beer cold.

If it's not too late I am in for 3 hoodies.

If any of the sponsors is giving another rear bumper I would like the wining ticket please! Crossed fingers, I was one number away last time!
