I have a spare stock front diff off my 99. I'll bring it for spare along with a brand new Denso radiator and Toyota antifreeze.

I think that should be enough.

BTW

I have a couple of hand held walkie talkies, will this work for CB's?

Don't worry about bringing a diff. We aren't changing a diff in the dirt. We can just get the guy in 2wd to get him home, worst case scenario.

And save the room for beer. No radiator needed either. Thanks though!

Brakes?? My mall cruiser has Azone golds all the way around. The brakes are much different than the 02 I recently bought which still has factory original pads. What is recommended? I'm not aware that the brakes will overheat or be abused doing the trails but since I have never done this I don't want to assume anything. I'm already thinking I should just slap some factory pads on as I'll be doing most of the maintenance listed earlier as well. Though I'm also going to replace the rear control arms, front uppers and do the bushing/ball joints on the lowers. After 284k miles it's needed. Bringing a few spare parts but nothing that I'm concerned about. Maybe the starter since it was done maybe 150k miles ago.

I'm in for any lesson/training for trail tips such as how to isolate the front diff. Think I remember since I had a hub flange strip that I saved so I could hog it out. I'm particularly interested in seeing/learning about all the goodies on the trucks that will be there as I'm assuming this bug will bite me and I will want to do more in the future.

Cool-some Lemon/Chump racers and a Spec Miata racer I see in the mix. I race a Camaro with NASA in the Camaro Mustang Challenge. Racing this weekend at Hallett. Funny since I'm looking forward to it being over so I can start prepping for this vacation.

I will definitely have a working CB as well. Loved reading the article by paflytyer and latenight campfire time. That is something I love and hated missing if we stay in town so I have the RV rented and lining up the things to flat tow. After suggestions I'm going to leave earlier than planned to arrive Thursday evening-I want to take it all in. I'll park in the furthest corner away with the RV and expect to be made fun of for lots more reasons than just the RV.

I will say this I didn't do brakes before HIH but I did have my mechanic check over everything thoroughly and got a thumbs up from him on that. That was good peace of mind on Black Bear. You don't need armor, 35's or a winch but you better sure as hell have brakes!

As a former track junkie myself their isn't much tech inspection needed for a 100 on the trails in comparison but that one is one I would make sure was done. :D

Speaking of CBs. Just got mine in with a 4' Firefly. Nothing fancy, but it'll do.

Just a quick reminder, please check your inbound email if you ordered extra shirts. I have about 7 folks that I have sent invoices to for those shirts and have not heard back. I would like to have the shirts paid by this weekend so that we can move forward with the process. Thanks for your help with this. (Paypal invoices were sent to email address that registration Paypal came in on)

Hah that is the same radio, antenna, and cable I ordered off of amazon. Was delivered and installed today! I like being able to unplug it and stashing it in the center console.

Yup! Same reason I chose it to simply remove when I don't need it.

So, we will survive with our old front diffs and other old parts, that's great. However, the mosquitoes might kill us:eek:!!!!!! Im bringing a mosquito net, garlic, silver bullets and any other anti-vampire weapons I can pack. High country Colorado mosquitoes are evil.:crybaby:

A ThermaCell is your friend wrt mosquitoes.

I call dibs on the chair next to Crimsonaudio! Don't mind me if I seem overly friendly; I'm just trying to stay in the "Dome of anti-mosquito" protection.

Or I could just buy a Thermacell, either one.

The mosquitoes have never really been an issue.
