55 Tailgate

I am posting this for a buddy looking for a early 70's Tailgate does not have to be complete. The one he had now down where the hinges bolt to the Tailgate are almost rusted thru. Let me know what might be out there close to So Calif and I will pass it on Thanks Rob

I have one, in pretty good shape. In fact, I drove to SoCal last year to buy it and pick it up, and never used it.

Frankly, I have no idea what to ask for a tailgate...I'll try to get over to the storage place and get a pic of it today. I'm open to suggestions.

What year specifically are you looking for? There were slight changes over the model years, though I suspect they would all bolt up.

I don't know about the tweeners but the earliest will not bolt to the lates and vice versa. There is some height and shape difference as I recal. I am not even sure for example that my 7/70 will fit on my 7/75. But, IIRC, you can not put any of the earlier on the last few years (77 to 80).
