It’s my understanding that these wheels were OEM on the following vehicles:
- Toyota Sequoia 2008-2017
- Toyota Tundra 2007-2013

They are 18” x 8” (same size as later OEM 100 wheels).

They are relatively inexpensive ($200 for 4 on Craigslist) and IMO look good on the 100 platform.

Here’s some pics of the wheels on a LX470 and the modifications needed to use the Center Caps that came with them.

The center caps fit on the rear wheels with no modifications.

The center caps need modified to fit on the 2 front wheels due to the hub.

A 1 3/4” hole saw hole thru the center of the cap will allow the dust cap to fit thru the center cap. Picture 1.

You also need to remove some plastic from the inside of the cap.

I used a 3/4” rounded file to create space for the flange locator nub (not sure what the technical term is...). Picture 2. Also, see picture 1 at the 9 O’Clock position.

I used a small round file to shorten the 2 plastic tabs at the opposite side from where I just created the space for the flange locator nub. This is needed to clear 2 of the 6 flange nuts. Picture 3. Also, see picture 1 at the 2 and 4 O’Clock positions.

Overall, it took me about an hour, to make the modifications.
With these directions and the right tools, it should take maybe 30 mins.

Enjoy.
Tom

I’m updating the original post with more info.
I hope it helps.

I know this is an old thread but I found these exact wheels on Craigslist for $75 for the set of four. My question is about the emblem on the center caps. Looks like you removed the Toyota emblem on the back caps. I wonder if there's a Lexus emblem that could be glued on there instead. I have a 99 LX and am weird about wanting the wheels to have a Lexus emblem on them. Also, if I added spacers would I need to trim that center cap at all do you think?

There are some options on eBay for center cap stickers.
The recessed area on the center cap is a little over 2 1/4”.
So, you need a center cap sticker that size or smaller.

56 mm = 2.2 inches which is less than 2.25 inches :)

If the spacer is big enough, you don’t need to modify the caps.
I don’t know what “big enough” is.
I just prefer to run without spacers (one less thing to fail...).

I agree about not wanting spacers. Thanks for the info! Now gotta find time to drive 3 hours to go get them.

Did this just last December. Should work for yours:

Finally got the Sequoia wheels installed with some Falken Wildpeaks after slip sliding all over the place in the old all seasons. They look so good! Really updates the look of the rig!

Now to tackle the center caps....

The best benefit is the ability to select from a broader tire selection. I have loved stepping up to 18's and it really updates the look of the 100 IMHO.

Agreed. I didn't even think about that when I got them. Bought them because they were $75 and came with the lug nuts. There were way more tire options. Plus they do really update the look. I was coming from the very dated chrome LX wheels. Little too much bling for my taste.

Sorry for the dumb question, but other than thinking they look better, what is the benefit of an 18" Tundra wheel (like this one) over the stock 18" wheel that is on my LC? This one.

Appearance, subjectively.

Yeah. I just think the 2018 Sequoia wheels look nicer. But I was coming from 16" chrome Lexus wheels. If i had the ones you have on your LX I'd keep them.

Just a heads up. OEM 100 series center caps will fit on these wheels

Funny you mention that. I just read that on another post. I thought it said the best bet was to grab some caps from a 100 series with 18" rims. My old wheels are 16" plus they are Chrome.

But if i can get a set of Lexus caps from a 470 with 18" rims I'd be set.

Do we know if those caps are the glossy type finish that the Sequoia wheels are?

Also, stupid question, but there is a thread from 5 years ago that says the 18" LC caps will fit these wheels....any reason why the caps from the 18" LX won't also work?

There are "advantages" depending on you intended usage. The larger diameter of the wheel reduces the side wall height on the tire giving it better handling due to less sidewall deflection. It can allow for larger brakes and rotors and can help reduce sprung weight depending on the size of the tire due to less side wall. In general off-roading, more sidewall acts like suspension... and can allow for greater deflection of the sidewall when aired down essentially "smoothing" out the ride while increasing your tires contact patch.

But yeah @GTV nailed it, they look mo' better.

Both work. They're the exact same part with a different logo.
