i have those sliders on my truck and i am really pleased with them. they are good looking, well built and a great deal for the money. i had a buddy help me with the install because they were too heavy to install alone. they bolted right up and look really good on my truck. hope this helps

Those look very nice. If I did'nt already have some they would be one my list.

Nice looking sliders, with great looking cat protection. Jaytee would you post some photos of yours? I'm interested in how these would work with OEM front splash guards or the stock running board end caps. Thanks

i am at work and this is the only pic i could find that shows the sliders. prolly not close enough but hope this gives you an idea of how they look

Are any of you folks running the bolt on sliders from 4x Innovations? If so please post up some of your observations, thoughts, etc.

Thanks!

Josh

I have them but only really used them once in Moab. I am happy with them for now. These are mine towards the bottom of the first page. As they came, primed, and then painted. Then on the truck. https://forum.ih8mud.com/nm-high-desert-cruisers/233072-only-start.html

I found if you have to put them on by yourself, floor jacks help quite a bit.

The price is right and they look nice! Do it....

when these are installed do they angle a bit up to fit the body lines of the fj80 OR are they completely flat? I noticed in one of those picks that they look really flat when installed, I normally like them to angle up a bit to follow the angle of the rocker. Good pricing though on these......

I have a set all ready to bolt on in the shop, no time to do them. I told Adam I'd post up with pics as soon as I can do it, but geeez, no spare minutes to do it.

I think they're well-built, right-priced and Adam was a real pleasure to deal with.

I will post up w/pics when they go on. Anybody in local So. Cal. interested in helping a guy out on the 22nd to bolt them up? I need some external motivation!

Dan.

I remember seeing a thread where some one asked Adam if he could weld the sliders flat so he could make a step out of them. Adam replied that he could weld them flat or angled at no extra charge. He sounds real good to deal with, call him, I'm sure he'll work with you. I'm considering a set myself, They're thinner wall than the RLMS and Metal Tech, but much better than the factory running boards and I don't rock crawl but am still looking for some body protection and stouter steps than the OEM running boards. I also like that they're bolt on. Thread with Adam giving option to have slider stick straight out for a step: https://forum.ih8mud.com/**-ih8mud-...230437-fj-80-lexas-450-bolt-rock-sliders.html

I guess "off the self" so to speak, angles up a bit. When I open the door, there is about two inches of clearance. The length of them sticks out to the flares, and the kickout of course more on the rear.

How are they as steps? Got 3 boys who use the the running boards to get in and out. How are these as "step" sliders? Wonder if he could weld some plate steel to keep little feet from slipping through the cross bars.....

thanks,

josh

I recently installed a set of these sliders. I asked for 4XInnovations to make them flat for me so they could double as a step. I also asked him to put expanded steel in them so they would be easy to stand on. They installed easily, though you will probably need two people just because it can be tricky to hold them up with one hand and bolting in with the other. I'm still waiting on my Frankies lift kit so I really haven't had a chance to beat on them yet. Over all I am impressed with the quality of the product and I would recommend them to others. I am also very happy that I asked them to be made flat and with the expanded steel. My only problem with 4XInnovations was that I was told the sliders would be shipped and arrive within two weeks. It actually took six weeks. I'm ok with the time frame, I just wish they would have shipped when they said they would have.

Do you have any close up pics of the expanded steel option?

What do these sliders weigh in at?

IIRC, The passanger side was a bit under 40, the driver side was a bit over 30, and the bolts package was around 5 lbs (according to the shipping weight).

But that is with the 3/16" wall and not the 1/8". Don't know what the 1/8" wall weighs.
