Get a set of 5100s and be done with it. I played with my spacer and strut setup at least once a month for almost a year. Got fed up and ordered some OME 880s and some 5100s and love it. Lowest setting in the struts with the 880s got me slightly over 2.5" on a 4banger Tacoma.

Look into the "hose clamp mod" as well, it will help keeping the boots from spewing grease.

+1 for Bilstein 5100s

Oh, and luckily for you I have replacement boots when your's tear, those CV angles look really bad. Are they the originals?

I have recently replaced the cv boots. I'm sure they wont last long at that angle!

Does anyone have the wheel center to fender measurement for a stock rig so I can reference how much lift I have with the different combinations I am trying?

On stock V6 tacoma it's ~21.25 to 21.5, I'll try to remember to measure mine, do a little math see if it's any where close

My plan is to shorten the rod on the bottom of the strut by 1" and see if that is where I need to be. I got some 5/8 id tube that I can sleeve over the rod on the strut, so it should be plenty strong.

The spacer/lift ratio on my 1st gen Tacoma is almost a 1 to 2. 1" of spacer nets around 2" of lift. Geometry of the upper/lower control arms, spring age/rates, bushing conditions, etc. have some factors too. I'm no mathmatologist so I just stick with 1-2.

I ended up shortening the lower shaft on the front strut by 1". I sleeved and welded it all back together. I'm running 2000 v6 stock springs front and rear. There's a 3" spacer on the rear for now.
It drives and handles great on the road - haven't been on the trails yet. Running 285/70R17's on stock fjc wheels with no rubbing.

Check your boots for tears or grease regularly. Looks good.

92 will be a 2nd gen and have torsion bars up front instead of coilovers. They won't work without major fabrication work.
