I was looking into getting my LC on some 34 inch tires, with a 4inch leaf lift. I have shackle reversal on front and longer brake lines . Any feedback on some options. I talked to guys at DOWNEY offroad and BTB in vegas, everyone swears that theres are better.

I've been told Downey has a availability problems with their springs.... the story is Skyjacker hijacked the last container shipment coming to the US and that left some folks w/out... next delivery expected end of February.......

TPI

Just an option, you might want to check out TPI's Smoky Mtn kit for vehicles w/shackle reversal. 2.5" front, 4" rear springs, made by Belton out of Canada. They usually run a end of year sale around x-mas, saving you a little cash. I know I like mine. Just trying to give you an option. Al

I have the 4inch skyjacker, shackle reversal and running 35 BFG MT's. My rear wheel wheels are cut out a bit from the previous owner.

thought about alcan springs? I've heard nothing but good things about their stuff.

Not exactly the truth. We thought we had springs coming in our next container---did not happen due to error on our part. We then contacted Skyjacker to see if they would sell us a few sets to tide us over. They sold us very few sets, but had to hold back the remainder for their own customers, I don't blame them. We will not receive our next container until Feb. 2008, then at that time the great quality at great prices returns---simple deal!!!!!

I got the BTB 4" lift springs on my 75 with the adjustable Rancho 9000 shocks and shackle reversal. For road trips it rides unbelievably smooth. As a matter of fact I would rather drive this setup over the road more so than any of my other vehicles except my 99 Lexus. I don't do a lot of offroad but by setting the shocks stiffer it feels very secure.

Call the guys at Hell Creek Suspensions. They will sell you whatever you need at a great price. Several guys in our club are running their 4" kit with 35's with no problems. Just my .02. Great guy to deal with. www.hellcreeksuspensions.com

Hey SUMMIT CRUISERS. with that BTB 4in since they ride nicer, will they potentially sag out quicker? longer life vs ride quality. You ever see anyone with sway bars for better handling on road? Your wondering what the s*** you need that for? just thought i would throw it out there.

Well, I've had these springs on for about 5 years and love them. Drove about 1000 miles 2 weeks ago with my family, 4 bikes, loaded cooler and totes down many 2 lane roads and had no complaints. I did set the rear shocks to the firm setting to help with the extra load. FYI, tires are 33x12.5 Pro Comp Muds on 15x8 wheels. See attached loaded pic.

Hello,
I have a set of Hell Creek 4" front and rears, I will include a box of shackles that vary in lift from 1" to 3". If you are interested PM me your e-mail and I will send you some flicks. $250.00, find a mudshipper and you can have a low cost lift.

I have alcans and are borderline stiff but it's my faught, I ordered them that way. I wanted them to handle a little bit more weight since I use it for fishing and camping but I don't fish or camp everday:). I'm just now trying figure out if I can remove or add a thinner or shorter leaf. I'm still waiting for response from Alcan. If you do go this route make sure you get the correct weight and application.

I also heard good things form Hell Creek. I'm considering another set from Alcan but I like the life time warranty Hell Creek offers.

humm.

I think you should consider where you want to be in a 5 years from now versus 5 months from now. if you've thought about doing a spring over and changed your mind, might want to reconsider unless the 4" (of whatever verity) is the end all lift for your rig.

just my $.02

Hey Al with your 2.5/4 lift, the 35" meats you don't rub anywhere? And the stance is fairly level?

My rears are cut, no rubbing, but could use a little longer shackle in rear to level it out ( I also have a rear aux fuel tank ). In the front the only place that rubs BARELY is the top edge of the shock, due to using a Ford shock mount, which has less angle than the Toy one. I needed this when I did my Scout p/s conversion. HTH, Al
